Ok with some design flaws

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator was installed in a New construction house that I bought. It would not have been a refrigerator. I would’ve picked if I’d taken time to look at it a bit more. Inside shelving is limited on how you can arrange the shelves. The tall shelf is at the very top which will hold your milk cartons. Having a limited ability to lift items, I found this extremely difficult to deal with. Also, the ice/water on the front of the refrigerator is poorly designed. It will only accommodate a small glass. To get the ice in a larger cup, you have to tip the glass and it quite often hits the water lever is depressed causing a huge mess. The freezer space is OK. All in all, this is a refrigerator that might be OK as a backup or a first refrigerator. It does have some poor design issues. Perhaps that’s why it was in a new construction home.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, We value your time and would like to look into the concerns with your Refrigerator. A door, typically the freezer door, popping open slightly when another on the same unit is closed is often a normal occurrence caused by air pressure and displacement. Rapidly closing one door compresses the air inside, which escapes through the path of least resistance—often the seal of another lightly latched door. This force causes the second door to open briefly. This is more common with forceful closures and in modern, well-sealed appliances. However, if the opening is excessive or happens with gentle closures, it may indicate a problem. Follow the troubleshooting steps below. Is the refrigerator leveled and properly aligned? The appliance must be perfectly level side-to-side and front-to-back for proper sealing and door mechanics. An unlevel unit or misaligned doors can prevent a complete seal, making the door susceptible to air pressure. Tips for Leveling and Alignment: Utilize a Precision Level: Ensure the refrigerator is level, with the front ideally slightly higher (raked) to help the doors swing shut. Consult Documentation: Use your Owner's Manual for specific instructions on adjusting the leveling legs and rollers. Assess the Floor Surface: Check that the floor is level; use durable shims if necessary. Check Door Hinge Alignment: Inspect hinges for loose screws and ensure doors are centered to prevent improper closing. Is the gasket sealing correctly and consistently?
The door gasket, the flexible magnetic strip, is critical for maintaining an airtight seal. Dirt, dust, or food residue on the gasket or cabinet flange can weaken the magnetic attraction or prevent full compression, creating a weak point vulnerable to the pressure wave from closing the other door.
Tips for Gasket Maintenance: Routine Inspection and Cleaning: Regularly inspect the entire gasket for debris. Cleaning Procedure: Use a soft cloth, warm water, and mild detergent to gently wipe the gasket and the mating cabinet flange. Avoid harsh chemicals. Restore Flexibility: Apply a light coat of food-grade mineral oil or a specialty conditioner to keep the material supple. Test the Seal: Perform a "paper test" by closing the door on a thin strip of paper. Resistance when pulling it out indicates a good seal; if it slides out easily, the seal is weak. A torn or cracked gasket must be replaced.
