Works well but is difficult to keep clean

Good looking fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this fridge 3 weeks ago and overall I like it. I’m hoping for many years of reliable service build by one of the most reliable brands according to reviews online. I was concerned about noise issues by many other reviews but it hasn’t been to much of a problem with me. It was a little noisy when I first plugged it in trying to cool the space which is understandable. It has quieted down considerably except for the ice maker. During the ice making process, just before it drops in the ice bin there is a popping noise which is pretty loud. Not a deal breaker but just a warning to some. Ice takes about 24hrs to fill completely. The shelves are not adjustable and the door bins are not the same quality as my 10yr old Whirlpool Gold that this replaced. The only part that is better is the butter storage bin which is quite puzzling to say the least. I saved the door bins from my old fridge which surprisingly fits. May use it in the future in case these new ones break. I’m not sure if this is the norm for new refrigerators now day but I have water condensation drips from the ice maker dispenser. I don’t have any ice in the chute so ruled that factor out. Never had a problem with condensation drips from my Gold fridge. Might give Whirlpool a call to clarify this issue. It is a beautiful looking fridge tho. Btw, I live in one of the 2 states that do not qualify for a free Whirlpool appliance for this review. Hopefully this helps.

Not good build quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this as part of new construction. The main refrigerator side door has shelves that are made of plastic (which is okay) but its very cheap plastic. But the problem is that the door is such that often when I am closing it, I get hold of one of the shelves and close the door. The shelves don't stick to the side door well and come out easily. We have broken 2 of the shelves within the first month just because they fell when they come out of the side door and crack easily.
Extremely poor shelf material quality.
We also had a huge issue of the ice maker not defrosting automatically, which caused cooling to fail. However, whirlpool was quick to fix it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Economical

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator 2 months ago. The fridge door was not leveled so it swung opened all the way. Had to get a service technician out to fix it. It is leveled now and it's better but still I don't like the design of the notch that connects the door to the fridge. The older style for the door opening without swinging all the way opened is my preferred one.
