Black stainless steel. The Black coating peels off

Totally disappointed. A Refrigerator is one that should look good for years. Within one year of purchase I noticed that there is a paint like layer that on it that is peeling off where the doors meet in the middle. Now after 5 years, it looks so old and is embarrassing to have in the kitchen. Friends have started to notice the bad quality. Also, there was in issue with the cooling and it had to be fixed by LG
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought the refrigerator 5 years ago and love it. Just shy of the 5 year mark the compressor went out. It took LG three weeks to get a repair person out then another week to get the parts. We love the refrigerator and the repair guy was outstanding. No taking LG three weeks to get someone to look at it is not right.

Ice maker has broken twice. Compressor had to be replaced. All the repairmen tell us that they recommend against LG.

I bought the LG refrigerator on March 15, 2017 and delivered March 21,2017. On January 18,2020 the compressor malfunctioned and food in the freezer went bad. I bought a 3 year extended warranty so the food damage and repair was covered. On July 30 the refrigerator stop making ice and food in freezer is started to melt. Summer fridge technician said compressor is bad again. I believe a got a lemon fridge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Already my kitchen is much quieter. The old side by side ran louder. Could hear the ice drop in that one at the back of the house. I love the door in door and I no longer have to scold everyone to close the full door while they poured milk or made a sandwich. I have a family that doesn’t know how to get all the condiments out at one time and close a door. I foresee a lower electric bill with this one as everything they need is in the door, The shelves on the freezer side are perfect for those smaller and narrow bottles. Loving the drawers in the freezer, finally an organized freezer where I can get anything I want without emptying a shelf. I did a lot of research on this fridge before I bought it and knew it would fit through my doors, which were 35”. The only thing they had to do was take the door off of that entrance and that was only because of the wall not allowing it to open fully. The storm door mechanism also had to be removed. Fit through with room to spare. I was surprised to see the electronics panel on the top of the unit, which is flush to the fridge height. I think you should add that to your pictures. I measured and remeasured to make sure it would fit in my built in area. Have 1, 3/4” to spare as it was a 72” height opening. Make sure you read all the specs and not just the fridge specs to insure it fits your opening. I am 5’3” and have no problems reaching anything at the back of the top shelf.

Bought this refrigerator on 6/10/17. Came home from being gone for 5 days and the refrigerator had broken down while we were gone. Smells like someone died in my house and refrigerator. The clean up was worse. Very disappointed with the quality of parts that were put in this refrigerator. I loved the refrigerator when we bought it but now will never buy another LG product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know what happened to my original review, but here goes again. I love the look of this refrigerator. It does take some getting used to which side to open, so you have to arrange your foods accordingly so you don't always have to open both side. For example, all my lunch items are on one side. The shelves on the flip out door aren't all accessible when you open the full door. So I often open the full door and realize I have to close it to get something. The refrigerator is very deep so if you are height challenged it's tough getting to the back of it. But that does provide lots of room. The freezer had plenty of space. I was used to a side by side and the freezer was small so we had a separate freezer in the basement. The left side of the refrigerator door does have small compartments because of the ice maker. But I couldn't live without one. I bought the whole suite so they look fabulous in my kitchen.
