Nice upgrade from Forerunner 620
on June 15, 2018

I have always worn a forerunner to run in so this was a no brainer to get the 645 when my 620 wore out even though some reviews were negative. So far I have had a great experience... the functionalities of the old watch is still there, which is great since I use it for my running and workouts, but I also like that there are more activities to choose from. I also like the music. I don't generally listen to music when I run, but when I am at the gym doing weights I listen so I have been using my watch. It was easy to install the music and pair with my apple pods. I also love all the data that this watch provides... sleep, as usual the running and hr (so glad to not have to wear a strap). The battery life is not too bad either. I prob charge every few days because I am wearing it all the time (60 miles a week/gym 3-4x a week).

More sports, music and payments - very happy

I upgraded my Forerunner 620 to the 645 Music and am very happy. I wanted support for more sports, heart rate monitor without a chest strap, music, and payments. I am using Bose SoundSport wireless and have had no connectivity issues or drop outs over the first 5 runs. I've been surprised at the quality of the Android integration for notifications (once tuned) and the ease of use of the watch overall. Very happy. Glad I upgraded.

Smaller than expected

I can’t even wear it. It is made for a girl. So small on my wrist. Not sure how accurate it is either.

Hello Callahan7873,

Thank you for taking time to post a review of the Forerunner 645 Music. The physical size of the Forerunner 645 Music is 42.5 x 42.5 x 13.5 mm, and fits wrists with a circumference of 127-204 mm. If you find that the band included with the watch is not the right size, you can swap it out with other bands that use the industry standard 20 mm quick release bands.

Thanks again for posting your review.

Love it but...

I was excited that Garmin came out with a running watch that stored music since I believe Garmin is the leader in sports watches. I bought the 645M in March, 2018 and am pleased with the sports features. However, I am disappointed in the issues with the music, lack of playlist ability and Bluetooth issues, that after 3 months they still haven’t resolved. Also, the lack of communication about timing of fixing the issues is frustrating.

Great features- but needs to support apple users
on June 15, 2018

I love the features and the potential that this watch offers. Currently most of the apps don’t seem to support iPhones, so that is a little frustrating. Also the battery doesn’t last nearly as long as my 235. The watch is much more comfortable and has more features.

Hi Av1080,

Thanks for taking time to review the Forerunner 645 Music. We would love to speak with you directly regarding concerns you have with app on the iPhone. The Garmin Connect Mobile app is compatible with iOS devices running version 10.0 or later. The battery on the Forerunner 645 Music is also designed to last up to 7 days in smartwatch mode, up to 5 hours in GPS mode with music, and up to 14 hours with GPS and no music.

Thanks again for posting your review.

Love it!

I bought this about three months ago, so far I love it. It took a while to figure out the buttons, but once I did it has been great. Figuring out the music was a bit complicated for me(I’m not tech savvy) but, I use the iHeartRadio app and I love it. I wish that part was a little less complicated, but it’s a great feature as I don’t have to run w my phone now!!

An Honest Opinion

I bought this watch 2 months ago.Looks great , feels great. Nice looking watch. I'm a fan of Garmin. Love it for running. The downloading of music on it is not what I would call user friendly and if some of your music is not the correct files you cannnot dowload it unless you're willing to go through quite a few hoops.
Biggest disappointment is the battery life. Even if not using much of the functions your battery does not stay charged for more than 5 days and even then it comes very close. It does charge fast but again that is disappointing about the watch
