I have had my Garmin 645 Music for almost a week and I absolutely love it! It easily pairs with my bluetooth headphone and the music settings are easy to navigate! This is going to make my long runs so much nicer!

Missing music players

It misses Google Play Music or Spotify or other streaming apps. Too limited with only iHeart Radio that does not work everywhere.

Hi Renatosjardim,
Thanks for taking time to submit a Forerunner 645 Music review. At the time of this response the only music service that is available for the Forerunner 645 Music is iHeartRadio. We continue to work with other music providers in hopes of getting more services added. The Forerunner 645 Music is also to load media files that are stored in your computer's media management program when using Garmin Express. Nice watch, Garmin Express limits usefulness
on June 7, 2018

I'm an avid Garmin owner. Many, many devices (watches, bike computers, and hiking GPS's) over the years.
I just upgraded to the 645 Music from the Vivoactive. The watch is very nice, but Garmin Express limits the units music usefulness by limiting users from attaching to network drives where, in many cases, users store their music. Therefore, I can not add music to my 645 without first moving it to my local computer. A pain.
Other than that, it's nice, but without music, it's not better than a Vivoactive at half the price.

Hello femike99,
Thanks for taking time to post a review of the Forerunner 645 Music. We appreciate the feedback regarding storing music on network drives. As you indicated the Garmin Express is not able to search network drives for music. Storing music locally will ensure that Garmin Express is able to quickly find the music and sync it with the Forerunner 645 Music. Thanks again for posting the review.

Love this watch

I bought this a few weeks ago, and have gone on many runs with it already. The GPS is fantastic. The music feature is wonderful. The only complaint is that the Bluetooth connection fo the headphones I use (Jaybird RUN) can be spotty at times.

It’s great - when it works
on June 15, 2018

I’ve been using this for about a month or so. There are a lot of bugs present with this watch. It’s difficult for wireless headphones to pair. When they do, they work intermittently. The watch will power down with zero warning, in the middle of a run or a race. The battery life seems quite limited. There are features I like, such as the stress factor, performance indicators and training indicators. I Love garmin, they are all I use for my marathons and other performance endeavors. This watch, however, I feel needed more testing and fine-tuning prior to being released.

Great features with exceptions

I love the features on the watch, very accurate HR zones and GPS. If that's what you are looking for then great. As to Garmin Pay, it is just puffery, I have yet to find a single retailer in Texas that accepts it, heck I bought it at REI and REI doesn't accept Garmin Pay. As to music, it only supports Iheart Radio and an Iheart Plus paid subscription isn't enough, you have to go to the highest tier at All Access paid.

pay more to stream music, no way!
on June 15, 2018

how is this possible? pay good money for a decent sports watch that can’t stream Spotify or Amazon music, this is not fair. Planning to return the watch.
Response from GarminBy Joey with Garmin, Fitness Product Support, July 23, 2018

Thanks for taking time to review the Forerunner 645 Music. As you indicated we currently do not have partnerships with Spotfiy or Amazon music, but we continue to work with music providers in hopes of bringing come music providers on board. Thanks again for the review and feedback.
