Very hard to download music when you are overseas. The rest of the features are awesome. I have some trouble wearing it on my left wrist when I am listening to music.

Buy Garmin for Garmin not music
on June 15, 2018

Love all my Garmin watches, however very disappointed in the 645 Music. Playlists are nonexistent, no way to organize the music doesn't always sync well with the headphones. If you are looking for a watch with music too, the Garmin is not there yet.

Hi klawjlaw,
Thanks for taking time to review the Forerunner 645 Music. There are several ways that you can load music onto the watch. When using a music service like iHeartRadio, you can download playlists through Wifi. For music files that are stored in your music media service, you can use Garmin Express to sync music to the watch. For more information about loading music to your Forerunner 645 Music, please use the following Support Center link to help FAQs and videos:
I have had great success with this watch. My headphones (not on the approved list) connect great. Only feature I do not like is the autolap always resets when you hit a manual lap for speedwork. App options are great.

Fine Watch

Upgraded from the 230 to 645 about 1 month ago. Great watch with cool data but very disappointed the Apple AirPods cut out the entire run. Garmin needs to do a fix w firmware to improve this issue. Once this is fixed I’d give it 5 stars.

Really like the watch, but the music doesn't work
on June 15, 2018

I've had the watch for a few months now, and i really like the running dynamics features (and having constant heart rate information). The battery life is good, and I like the appearance enough that I've made this an everyday watch. I've had every Garmin Forerunner since the 101, and this is my favorite watch.
In terms of things i don't like. First, is the music. I've tried three different models of headset and not a single one works. They pair, and the music will play for about 10 seconds before going away permanently. I haven't ever been able to listen to a complete song (regardless of where i have the watch located in relation to the headset. I'm really disappointed in this feature.
The second thing i don't like is that the Garmin Training status analysis doesn't take into account hills or heat when figuring out the status. Any run i do in the hills is marked as unproductive (because my heart rate is "too high" for my pace). They really need to account for altitude changes in their analysis.
Other than that, i've been quite happy with the watch.

Not much better than the vivoactive 3
on June 15, 2018

I previously owned the vivoactive 3, and this watch is a very similar form factor, but if i had to do it over again I wouldn't have upgraded as the differences don't justify the price jump. The GPS has also been pretty dissapointing compared to my previous watch.

Hello JayMadision,
Thanks for taking time to provide feedback on the Forerunner 645 Music. We are sorry to see that this is perhaps not the best device to fit you needs. While the vivoactive 3 and Forerunner 645 Music do offer similar features, the Forerunner 645 Music offers features not included in the vivoactive 3. Some of these features include the ability to load music, advanced running dynamic support, and physiological training metrics. Information about these advance training metrics can be found at www.garmin.com/runningdynamics.
You can also visit www.garmin.com/support to find many great resources, along with contact information for our Product Support team, to investigate any GPS inaccuracies that you are seeing. We would recommend that you use Garmin Express (www.garmin.com/express) on your computer to ensure that software is up to date. Thanks again for posting your review.

Great features, would like a few improvements

I have used just about every Garmin wearable that exists and this is hands down my favorite. I love being able to go for a run without bringing my phone for music. I now use most of the metrics (V02 max, Training Status, Training Load, Recovery Time) and it has helped me push my workouts without over-working myself. Battery lasts about 5 days when I exercise 3-5 hours a week.
2 things that could be improved: - Add the Golf activity to the watch. To get the Golf activity, I either have to get a watch that lacks other fitness features, or get a Fenix. Why not just add Golf to this? - Make syncing/transferring music and audio simple and low-effort. I would love to have audio books and podcasts automatically sync the next few chapters or episodes whenever I plug this in to charge.
