Devices and App are great. Web needs improement

So far, I am impressed with the Garmin devices, and I really like the look and functionality of the Android App. I am disappointed in the Web App (connect.garmin.com). It is clunky and messy the look hasn't been updated in a long time. It also needs a dark theme. If the web app looked more like the Android App I think it would be better.

Unreliable Product

This is my second replacement since I purchased the product almost a year ago. The first watch Field in its ultimat I purchased the product almost a year ago. The first watch failed to accurately measure stair climbing and elevation changes while cycling. The second watch presented the blue triangle of death after a swim a few days ago. Does not connect to my smart cycling trainer (Cyclops Hammer). Transferring music from Mac OS is klugy but does work with some patience. Music has frequent interruptions/temporary drop outs when connected to my back beat blue tooth ear buds. Tracking strength training sessions is too cumbersome, if you want to enter amount of weight lifted.
On the plus side: looks good; light weight. Better battery life than Apple watch. Plays some music while running without phone.
If I were buy again, I would save up and buy a Fenix with music or perhaps explore a Vivo with music or—better—an Apple Watch and just sacrifice battery life.... maybe the running only 235 is more reliable?

Sorry to hear about your experiences with the device. Since the release of that device there have been several software releases and I would encourage you to check and make sure the device is running the latest software. On the bluetooth headset there are things that you can do to optimize the connection. I have listed the links below for you. As for the cycling trainer I understand the frustration however that is an advanced feature that is used on our other cycling devices.

Perfect for my needs

I was torn between this and a 735xt I am so glad I bought the 645 with music. It is easy to set up like 1 hour and everything synced easily.

Horrible update process

I got this watch for the music feature and it won’t allow me to download music u til the update is done and it won’t complete because of a connection issue. So expensive and not worth it

So far so good

Bought this to get serious about my training and stay on pace for my next 1/2 Marathon. I have had a week and so far impressed. Simple to use, accurate and a motivational tool.

Unnecessarily difficult

My wife bought me this Harmon watch for Christmas so that I could run with the music feature- meanwhile we’ve found it almost impossible to load music and almost everything else- basically we can’t load music or any other features- we are beyond frustrated and about to return the device- completely disappointed- we’ve watched every tutorial we can and nothing is working for us

Love my Garmin

As a person who likes running, this watch is a great helper. It keeps track of my runs, vo2 max, heart rate and several other features the music is a plus. The main help it gives me is keeping track of all my different workouts like spinning class, steps and giving me an overall evaluation on how I’m doing on my week or if I need to get moving. Nice feature is being able to read your text messages right on the screen.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I initially purchased a Garmin Forerunner 735XT, which I liked, but it was missing some of the workout and fitness features that I wanted, so I exchanged it and got the Forerunner 645. I'm not a triathlete so the 735XT or 935 were more than I needed, but I do crossfit and run distance (i.e. newbie to the ultra world), so I feel this is a better watch for me. Awesome interface, tons of fitness features, GPS and GLONASS are amazing, and it looks great. The watch was a little quirky to figure out when I first opened it. I've used a couple of other smart/fitness watches, so it was a little different. After a couple days, I was ready to rock and roll! I immediately thought the price was a little high for the features you get, but the onboard music with Bluetooth headphone connectivity is a huge benefit and sets this watch apart. My advice would be to do a lot of research and know what you're buying before spending a bunch of money on a fitness watch. This is the perfect watch for me!
