Not tech savvy and horrible music download

Bet horrible music download abilities and limited tech savvyness. I like the metrics the watch is able to provide regarding LT and heart rate.

Great features and yet weak battery?

I bought in April 2018 and it works with no problem - maps my trail runs, reads my sleep cycles, stress levels, plays music, shows messages and reminders, incoming calls. Also love that I do not have to pick up my phone and check messages on the watch.
I love all it but after few months of using it (mostly for every day use of getting to work, sleep schedules etc.) I noticed that it requires recharging every 1,5 day and when asking at the shop it should be 7 days, which required doing it mostly with a power bank during driving or sitting somewhere with a power bank which tied my in place.
Some minor connection issues with phone occur rarely but that does not make any problems.
Also - although Latvia is a small country there are other models and watches from other companies which have all the letters of Latvian alphabet and so some times I cannot clearly read what I received to my phone.
After giving the watch to the guarantee - received a new watch and now checking how often I have to charge this one. The alphabet issue received a reply - will have to wait for an update to fix this issue.

I haven’t had the watch long but the new Spotify feature is amazing!!!! It was a complete game changer as I contemplated sending it back because I only stream music through Spotify. I love it! It’s fun and not going to lie amazed by the technology. Love love being able to run phone free and yet still have music.

I researched a number of GPS watches and was looking for right device to support music while I run.... It has met all expectations so far and the expanded information on Garmin Connect is an added bonus.. looking forward to checking out other features over time!

Great fitness device

This is a fantastic fitness device, marred only by poor software support in some areas.
First, the good - I think that the FR 645 Music is a uniquely perfect watch in the Garmin line up at the moment. It's the only one that has all three:
* Thin, lightweight, and smartwatch-like in appearance, * Has a large number of Firstbeat intelligent analytics, and * Supports music away from the phone (and with Spotify).
And it does all these well. Plus the great multi-day battery life and excellent Garmin Connect mobile app and website. Garmin makes it easy to integrate with Strava and Myfitness Pal as well. So really - this was the only Garmin that met all my criteria.
But now for the downsides --- they're pretty annoying, but SO FAR, not a show stopper:
- The Garmin Express MacOS app has stopped working for me, and this is also apparently a frequent problem. It crashes on startup. - The Garmin help forums are broken, not allowing new user accounts. No way to report the problem, because the contact page requires a user account. This is apparently a frequent problem. - Step count is not updated when using a treadmill desk. The foot pod is no help. There appears to be no solution to getting an accurate step count when using a treadmill desk (i.e., not swinging one’s arms). - There’s no data field available for showing step count during an activity, like walking. So during a “walk” activity to meet one’s step count, one must pause the activity, go to another screen to see the step count, and then resume the activity.

4 days in and I'm digging all the info, who would have thought that I needed to know my stress levels.

A great watch

Prior to getting the Forerunner 645, I had the Vivoactive, so this watch is a major upgrade with all it's features. The watch feels very lightweight on your wrist. I love that music can be loaded into the watch--the sound is a bit iffy when you're moving around but for the most part, the podcast I listened to throughout my run sounded good. The ability to customize the watch through watch faces and different widgets is nice. I especially like the specific ways it tracks your fitness, through your VO2 max, race time predictions, etc. That has been really helpful with my training. Overall, this is an awesome watch and I'm really happy with the product.
