I do NOT recommend this range

We bought this range July 26, 2022, replacing our 20 yr old range because the sparker wasn't working on it, and I got tired of having to light each burner each time. Guess what- after these few months, same problem. As of today, the sparkers are lighting only sometimes- today, as I'm prepping for Thanksgiving, so I'm really upset.
But that's not even the biggest problem. One of the reasons I like gas stoves is that you can control the flame- not so with this range. There appears to be only 2 flame settings- no matter to what number you turn the knob- really high, and pretty high. Only the middle burner has any variance at all. It's impossible to cook something slowly if you've got more than one item on the stove, which makes cooking not much fun at all. I'm to the point I hate it and if I could afford it, would rip it out and throw it in the trash.
My husband bought it directly from Whirlpool, and even that was a mess. The person Whirlpool sent out to install it said he didn't do propane, so we ended up having to pay several hundred $$ to a different person to come install it for us.
NEVER buy directly from the factory!!!!! At least if you buy from a local store, you've got someone you can see and talk to about the problems.
Something else you need to know is that the black circles that spread the flame come off- they're just balanced there. So when you wipe down the cooktop- which you have to do every day, they fall off. While it looks very upscale and cool, it's a piece of trash.
Now I've got to figure out how to cook Thanksgiving with this piece of junk.

Openings in grates are too large

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The builder chose this cooktop as part of our kitchen upgrade. We would not have opted for the grates of this model. The openings are too large for most small to medium size pans and pots. Our one quart pots do not sit securely on the grates. The pot teeters over the gap and leans in that direction. This also causes issues with the exterior and handles of the smaller pans and pots getting hot. We unfortunately were burned by this flaw. All of the grates are the same size even though the burners are of various sizes. We plan to reach out to whirlpool and seek full grates without openings so we can fully use our cooktop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

LOVE IT!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace a unit that was 18 years old! I love the look and feel. It is so easy to cook on! The lift up grates make cleaning very easy. We had a little more difficult time since we had to use the conversion kit to propane (had to run out to buy some special tools) but it just took a few hours.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice looking cooktop. Love the full grates. Does require lot of attention to keep the stainless steel looking good. Low flame setting is not that low, which supposedly can be adjusted if you can find the right screwdriver; have not found one yet. Two of the three grates were uneven and rocked, which we corrected with metallic tape on right side of hinge.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this cooktop for three months with no problems. Wife loves it even though she had doubts about gas to begin with. Lots of room, instant heat, easy to clean. What's not to love. Have had electric, gas and glass top induction. Knew I wanted gas.
