Cooktop Review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a new house & moved in in June 2021, the Whirlpool cooktop came as part of the installed appliances. As far as the cook top is concerned we have not complaints. BUT we would like to inform the manufacturer of the following issues we faced: 1. The knobs are made of plastic of some kind and the one nearest to the medium burner melted/curled a little in the heat. 2.The cast iron grates seemed a little flimsy. I picked it up by one of the cross bars to take it to the sink to wash it and it snapped off. Luckily the grate landed with a thud on the counter and not on my foot. I am looking up how to inform the company and request for a replacement.

WORST GAS COOKTOP!!!

this gas cooktop is awful. The grate is so big and the pan sits so far from the flame, cooking time is 2x my 15 year old GE cooktop. Small volume liquids never properly reach boiling point because of this. my family cooks a lot, and we have already noticed our GAS usage gone up.

Plastic knobs and placement was a stupid design

This came with the upgraded kitchen package in my modular home. It really is not much cooking space and it's pretty impossible to use all 4 burners at once unless you are using tiny pans. The smallest burner is really pointless, the medium size is the smallest you need. Also having the knobs inset into the cooking area takes up valuable space. My outer 2 knob covers are melted/warped because I use a griddle pan that covers 2 burners and extends over the outermost knobs. Would've been ideal to include a custom fit griddle pan with it. Also a 5th middle burner for all over coverage would have been great. I do like the EZ-2-Lift grates but the pot filler on my wall keeps that function from working on the right grate. Overall if I could have chosen another model I would have. Don't even get me started on the touch screen oven it came with. NEVER again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a long wait of almost 9 months and looking for the right contractor, we finally installed our gas cooktop and it’s been great. Very eye catching and nice to look at. One draw back is that it’s hard to place 2 large pots on it at the same time due to its size (30 inches). An extra 2 inches I believe would help with that problem. But all in all I love it!

Not what I was expecting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased a new house and it came with this cook top converted to propane. I am not happy with it. We have had it adjusted 3 times already and it does not cook consistently. 3 of the burners are for cooking and one is for simmering, or so I was told. The 3 cooking burners run very hot on the low setting and do not work well with smaller pans/pots. The grate does lift easily for cleaning which is nice but over all at this time I would not go with this cook top again. It very well could be that it has not been adjusted correctly or was not installed correctly, but the fact that one burned is not supposed to be used for cooking does not sit well with me.

Worst stove ever!

I have had this stove for one year and its a total waste of money. The grill top always slides off base no matter how clean it is. Three of four burners work. No difference between medium high.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range top replaced my still workable former range top of the same brand. It works well and is easier to clean, although the iron grill is a bit bulky and awkward to work with.
