Initial impressions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace a 4 year old GE laundry center which was a piece of junk. GE replaced the entire unit once and after the two expensive service calls we decided to replace it with the Whirlpool unit on the recommendation of our repair people. In comparison to the GE the new unit drys more slowly using at least 1&1/2 " Very Dry" cycle to do the job. The washer is has more capacity than the GE and easily swallowed a king size comforter. You must use a mesh garment bag for lingerie items and thin socks or they will end up very tangled and perhaps wedged under the agitator. The controls are at the top of the unit so if you are short you might need a stool to reach them. Also the washer instructions are located under the washer lid which only opens to about a 45 degree angle so are almost impossible to read. Of course the instructions are in the unit's guide booklet so not really a problem.

Great washer - dryer not so much

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this washer/dryer unit a couple of months ago. It washes beautifully - it is almost like magic. The dryer works, but often struggles to dry mixed loads completely; any towels and other heavy cotton items almost always need a second time in the dryer.

The dryer doesn’t dry!

I bought this a month ago and it’s nothing but a headache. I am not happy at all because I’m unable to dry clothes in an hour or less. It takes ALL DAY to get through two loads because of the low-performing dryer. The dryer takes several cycles to dry clothing. Whether I use the auto dry setting or the timed dry setting, I have to dry one load at least four times before it’s actually dry. Totally unacceptable!!! And it’s brand new!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice size for small spaces

Water doesn’t cover clothes.

I installed it the other day and I am so disappointed. Doesn’t clean my clothes because it doesn’t even cover them with water. If Whirlpool is trying to safe water it’s not working very good because the first load I did I had to wash it 4 times. The machine is worthless.
