[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a unit I bought used to save $, which as it turned out was a bust. It is for a weekend home. As long as the wife is happy I'm happy. Happy spouse, happy house!

So far, so good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the unit for about 5-6 days and have done 3 loads of laundry. So far, all is working fine although the dryer door is very difficult to open - takes a good pull and I'm a 73 year old woman, so that may be a factor. Much tighter latch than the 20 year old Whirlpool unit replaced. The deeper wash tub and higher dryer ar4e of no concern to me. I'm 5'4" and can reach both easily. As a matter of fact, I believe the washer tub is larger than the old one.
Did I say it replaced a 20 year old unit? So far, I'm happy with Whirlpool stack washer/dryer.

I hate this dryer
on November 25, 2025

My landlord got me this new laundry center to replace the old one, which unfortunately broke. I hate this dryer with all my heart. Takes up to 5 cycles to get clothes dry, that's like 5 hours!! By the time I take the clothes out, they have a musty smell, and more often than not, sheets get tangled into giant knots, trapping smaller items in, so they're wet when I take them out. You know that lovely fresh laundry smell? I don't, haven't smelled it for months since I got this dryer. All my clothes smell like now is mold, nothing if i'm lucky. This is the worst dryer I've ever had the displeasure of using.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello,
We value your time and would like to look into the concerns with your Dryer.
Damp or wet clothes after a dry cycle usually indicate issues with airflow, cycle selection, or installation, often not a dryer malfunction.
1. Clean the Lint Screen: Mandatory: Clean the lint screen after every use. A clogged screen blocks airflow, extends drying time, wastes energy, and is a fire hazard. Wash the screen with soapy water if fabric softener residue builds up.
2. Check for AF/Check Vent Codes: Modern dryers signal venting restrictions with "AF" or "Check Vent" lights on some models.
3. Test Exterior Airflow:
Run the dryer on heat for 5–10 minutes.
Check the exterior exhaust hood.
Assessment: Airflow should be strong (like a hair dryer on high).
Action: Weak flow means a clogged vent line that requires thorough cleaning from the dryer to the exterior.
4. Clean the Home Venting Line: Long drying times with adequate heat strongly suggest a vent restriction.
Maintenance: Clean the entire vent system every 1-2 years, or immediately if performance drops.
Benefits: Reduces drying time and energy cost, increases airflow, and dramatically lowers the fire risk.
Tools: Whirlpool Dryer Vent Testing Kit (Part #W11224254) for proactive assessment. Contact Whirlpool for order.
Cycle Selection and Settings
Improper settings frequently cause dampness.
1. Use Automatic Cycles: Always use automatic, sensor-based cycles (Normal, Heavy Duty) for efficiency. They shut off when dry.
If Damp: Select a "More Dry" or "High Temperature" setting.
Timed Cycles: Only use for small, single, or lightly damp items. Avoid overloading.
2. Avoid Steam Cycles for Drying: Steam cycles (Wrinkle Release, Steam Refresh) introduce moisture to relax wrinkles and remove odors from already dry clothes. They are not a primary drying method and can leave small, light loads feeling damp due to condensation.
Is the Dryer Level? An unleveled dryer prevents clothes from consistently contacting the moisture sensors inside the drum, causing misreadings, premature shutoff, and damp clothes.

So far so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought 2 weeks ago; used twice. So far so good. The design could be improved though. The controls are too high for a short woman. (5'1") so I have to stand on a foot stool to operate. Probably designed by a tall man.

Longer time to wash clothes than I am used to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Takes longer than I am used to to dry towels..Over 75 minutes.
The washer also is going to take more time to get used to the little
Water it uses. Great feature for the environment. I need
To try the other setting to see if it lessens the time to wash a load. It took an hour to wash a load.
