Bad Performance.

We use these washers for our high rise, they all suck! dont buy! washer tub makes loud noises. we bought over 15 washers and half of them came defective.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bad experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a brand new house and the stacked laundry center was included in my purchase. That was over a month ago and the washing machine still doesn't work. It took a month to get the service company out to even inspect it and I was told the part is on backorder so I'm probably looking at another month with no washing machine. Whirlpool had the opportunity to replace it since it was brand new, but they refused saying they needed someone to look at it. Very unimpressed with this product and their position on making good on selling a defective machine.

2 critical failures

The quality of this equipment has been highly unsatisfactory. Over four years, we faced two critical failures—the transmission and shock absorbers—with repair costs reaching 60% of the initial purchase price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago and I might have made a mistake. The Washer / Dryer combo has great looks and seems to function as described. I think it important to share the following concerns: The washer lid is very heavy and held open by a magnet. You must hold it with one hand as you close it. If you let go, make sure your hands are clear of the opening or you will experience the pain of it falling on you. Please be aware that both the water level and the drying time are automatic. We are experimenting on how to control this attribute better. We now keep the instruction book handy because the Washer / Dryer instructions are underneath the washer lid. You have to get on your knees to read them (see photo). Crazy.It would be nice to have a dryer alarm to alert you for no-iron clothes.

DO NOT ORDER FROM WHIRLPOOL

I ordered a fridge and washer and dryer from whirlpool and it took FOUR deliveries (over a week in between orders) because they were delivered damaged! Three broken fridges and finally the fourth one worked...we were out a working fridge for weeks. The FOURTH washer and dryer they delivered was damaged then out of stock. This company is the biggest joke and biggest waste of my time. Their customer service line is a two hour wait every time to reorder AND at the end of the day they did NOTHING to fix the mess they caused. DO NOT ORDER FROM WHIRLPOOL.

Good Basic Equipment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this from All-Star Appliance in Waterbury at a price higher than I could have purchased on the internet. Service was a big priority and the guys did a great job with the delivery and would have completely installed it if my plumbing was ready to go.
I was using this equipment for about a month when if failed during a spin cycle. My retailer was there the next morning to confirm that a control panel needed replacing. They ordered one immediately and had it quickly installed after it arrived on backorder. The repair guy also fixed the dryer door that was hard to close; he fixed the latch and its fine now
Its been working excellent ever since.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awful... Just Awful

We have this combo machine in our apartment and it's the bane of my existence. There is a gap under the lint trap in the dryer that catches clothing when running and completely ruins whatever that may be. It's gotten to the point where I am hang drying anything of value. They should be including garment bags with the machines - if you put anything in there without one it's doomed.
It's not uncommon either. You may think I am overloading it, i'm not. I had five (yes, five) cloth napkins in the dryer and lo and behold one was caught under the lint trap and ruined when the cycle completed.
It's a horrible design flaw and i'm amazed Whirlpool is still selling these machines. It's even more amazing that people are buying this thing. I don't get how this didn't come up when testing the product. Look at the reviews for similar products, same issue. There are more comments here that speak to the same issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
