The loudest ice maker on the planet

We owned a Bosch fridge for 14 years. When it died, we replaced it with this one, mostly because we liked the one we had, and also had a size requirement that this fridge fit. I would have good things to say about it if it were not for the ice maker. Loud. Sounds like incoming kamakazi planes everytime it makes a cube. Guests stop what they are doing and say "what's that noise", and "have you called service". After you are assaulted with the sound, you are further aggravated by trying to dispense ice into your glass. It never stops dispensing when you release the dispenser and continues to spew the ice out and onto the floor, which you then have to pick up so you won't step in puddles when it melts or worse, slip on the water.
I live in an open concept home and I am unfortunately reminded of my poor choice everytime I hear the ice maker kick in.
For anyone considering this fridge, don't buy it.

Beautiful refrigerator

Side by side Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well, I do love the sleek profile BUT I find the ice machine 'wild' and noisy. I still haven't mastered the technique of getting the cubes or crushed ice without spillage.
I am determined to conquer this issue.
Otherwise, it is roomy and so far, efficient.

Just what I wanted?

I really like the side by side layout for me. The only things i now wish was included is an adjustment for the fresh produce bins and a quieter icemaker and a better ice shoot, ice goes everywhere when you try and fill your cup and dont even try crushed ice unless you feel like picking it off the floor it goes absolutely everywhere. Other than that i am happy i purchased this side by side

I appreciate that this appliance is truly "StainlessSteel!" So easy to keep finger prints off and magnets adhere! Excellent digital systel for temp control with lock mechanism on water and ice dispenser

water from my refrigerator?
