If Lego is trying to recreate the NY skyline, then the order of the buildings is all wrong. It should be (north to south), the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building, One World Trade Center and then the Stature of Liberty.
From the photos, it would seem that it would be possible to change the order of the buildings on the base. If that's the case then no worries (unfortunately it will still be wrong on the box).
Otherwise it looks like a great set, and I'm anxious for it to be back in stock.

Statue of Liberty is flimsy
on December 25, 2016

Parts of this set are ridiculously flimsy. A light knock removes about 30% of Lady Liberty, and with it being built first as per the instructions, I ended up chasing it multiple times due to it being knocked off. That's the killer for me. Other parts of this set are good, and well built, apart from maybe the One Trade Centre, which I am fairly sure has a flaw in its design, as certain pieces would not fit together (saying that, that may be my ineptitude as a LEGO builder, so I can't hold it against the company for something that may be my fault).
I'm not angry at the product, just more disappointed that it didn't live up to what it could have been.

Disappointed

I am an avid Lego fan and I just got back into builidng sets as an adult. I’ve built and enjoyed the Lego architecture collection including the Paris and London sets. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this New York City one though. I was missing crucial parts that had to be ordered separately (thank you to Lego for being so quick and accommodating to send the missing pieces!) Then, when I continued to build, I was not able to complete the freedom tower because the pieces did not fit together according to the instructions. I tried everything I could think of including trying to see if I could use other pieces in different ways with no luck. I wouldn’t recommend this set, but I’m still a huge Lego fan and will continue to purchase in the future, I just wish I could have used this money to purchase something else.

Not for Lego archticeture fans
on March 28, 2016

My rating is initiated as a fan of the very nice and famous Lego architecture series. Normally I'm expecting very detailed models of famous or extraordinary facilities including an introduction in their architecture. Contrary to my expectations is Lego New York City only like a very rough overview or introduction and couldn't fit my standards. So from my point of it is a nice but expensive souvenir and I bought it for my son as he was coming back from his US trip.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about your New York City Architecture set. I'm sorry that this set does not meet your expectations. Please know that in addition to our new skyline sets, we will continue to bring you Architecture models that you are used to seeing.
Your feedback is important so I will be passing them along to the team in charge of that area.

OKAY why make it so unstable
on November 9, 2020

This thing fall apart in a matter of a month. It is hard to build. And is a pain to put together. I am not saying that I am a bad builder it is just unstable. I am 13 and have built at least forty sets and this is the one in two that made me quit building it. I hope this helps someone out there. thank you for reading this

Sorry to hear you’re having some difficulty with the stability of your New York City set. We always test and retest our toys to make sure that they’ll hold up to play when they’re built exactly as shown in the instructions. If your set ever seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together.
If you'd like a hand troubleshooting the build, or if you find that any pieces aren't holding together as they should, feel free to give us a shout at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

Expensive & took 10 minutes to build.

My Grandson is 15. He said the set is only 6" high; small. It took him 10 minutes to build. He did learn some things about the buildings by reading the booklet that came with the set. My grandson's have a large Lego station in their garage and have been building and rebuilding for years. I am disappointed that I spent so much money and it only took 10 min.

My 6 year old breezed right through this with absolutely no help from his dad or I. He took his time and followed the directions carefully and completed it within 72hours. As long as you keep making lego's we will continue to buy them. Our little guy is amazing at them, oh did I mention he is only 6. Proud mom
