Love it

My wife and I bought one for each of us. We love them. Bluetooth connection is flawless. When I turn it on, it connects. The music sounds like it is in my head in a way that headphones and earbuds does not. Sound is excellent. Hands free calls are great. Only negative is that the sound is very audible to those around you, so it will potentially bother others if you are listening at work, on the train, etc.

Good sound, very awkward

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These sound a lot like typical earbuds. They sound full in the highs and mids but are lacking in the lows (not very good bass). I only use the soundgear around the house because the general design looks out of place in public. They can get very loud but be cautious because you can blow out the speakers, I did this to one of them in the first two days of having them. They're AMAZING for people who love to relax and listen to ASMR. They're also great for listening in the car and since they're not in your ear it's really easy to pay attention to your surroundings if needed. However, I wouldn't recommend using these in public because it's more of a loudspeaker than earbuds so anyone and everyone can hear what's playing.

Great sound bad battery length

Sound gear has very nice sound but ,doesn’t hold a charge for more than 3 hours and that’s at medium to low volume. The only reason I haven’t sent it back is because of the sound and being able to wear at work. To bad they didn’t work on putting a better long lasting battery in it.

Great sound, some trade-offs

For me personally, this type of wearable speaker is exactly what I've been waiting. I did a ton of shopping for the right one, and this JBL was my final decision and I've been very pleased with it. There are a few things that do bother me and why I rate it 4/5 though, so I'll list those items for others to consider.
First, though it's very comfortable to wear I feel like it's a bit heavier than I expected. This isn't really a big deal, but I do think it makes me get hotter underneath the device. When wearing while doing work or chores, I find that I sweat a bit underneath this speaker. I'm sure this will be much more noticeable come summer time.
Second is that the unit really doesn't flex at all. It rests on my shoulders fine, but I can't tweak how it does so really can't adjust the direction of the sound at all. Additionally, I have a bit of a thick neck so putting it on and taking it off tends to scratch me a little - particularly since the edges on the end are stiff and rather sharp.
And the last thing I was hoping for in a wearable like this and at this price point was the ability to adjust the sound details - treble, bass, or even a full equalizer. Unfortunately, it just is what it is. Thankfully JBL is pretty solid in this area, but would've been nice to adjust at least for the different types of content I listen to like books and podcasts.

If you're not a headphone person...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an alternative to headphones, I gotta say I'm mostly impressed. They are pretty comfortable, so long as you're not trying to ecercise with them. They have great battery life at moderate volumes and the soundstage they produce is awesome. It's like having a hifi system right in front of you, which is something headphones do not provide. Mid-bass is good but the lower octaves are lacking. I think this is more of a limitation of design. Who wants their neck vibrating-shaking and then battery life would take a bit hit too, so I get it. Overall pretty happy with them, just wish there was a way to disable the very loud on/off JBL tones.
