I LOVE my new Rice Cooker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before my Rice Cooker arrived I couldn't cook rice at all - it came out crunchy! When this wonderful cooker arrived I decided to give it the ultimate test---Brown Rice ! It turned out beautifully ! Before it was CRUNCHY and now it turns out fluffy and nutty and soft! Thank you Hamilton Beach--- Now I can cook rice - HOORAY!

Cooks perfect every time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy to set-up and use. I cooked rice and zucchini at the same time. Both came out perfectly. Cooker adjusts automatically for amount of water and cooking time when doing rice, so read instructions completely. I thought one of the best features was the steam drip catcher. Make sure you don't throw it out when unpacking. It attaches to the bend of the lid to catch water that drips out of the lid when lifted. Steamer comes with rice bowl measure cup and rice paddle easily remove rice. I do wish there were an easier way to get the steam basket and rice pan out of the steamer it's self. Very happy overall with this steamer.

Easy to Use and Reliable Results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything is included and in one place, measure the rice in the measuring cup, rinse in the steamer basket put it in the pot and turn it on. Takes a little bit of planning, since it takes about 45 minutes to cook. But if you start the rice first it works since once it's in the pot, there's no monitoring it, and the rice turns out perfect. Like the steamer basket, you can add it later in the cook cycle so fish doesn’t get too cooked. It would be nice if the steamer had a handle, but it's not a deal breaker. Only used a few times so far for long grain rice with and without vegetables, and basmati with salmon. Pleased with the performance and no more sticky or soupy rice. And, I like the looks of the stainless body with black accents.

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this and immediately planned something for dinner so I could use it. The instructions for proportions of rice to water were very easy to follow. The rice was finished cooking in much less time then originally indicated, which in this case, was good.
A couple of days later I used it to steam vegetables. The basket is very small, but we were able to do enough for two. (The picture shows corn on the cob, but unless you cut one in half, I don’t think you could a full size ear of corn in the basket.)

Perfect Size

It's ver light weight which I love because I can't stand extreme heavy appliances that I have to bring out every time to use.

Maybe Good for You, But Not for My Family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never have used a rice cooker, so I was excited to receive item. When I opened the box I liked the coloring & size of cooker but d/n expect steamer basket to be made of plastic; durability over time? I tried the following items; Cream of Wheat, Basmati Rice, Yellow Squash, & Chicken Tenders. Followed the directions in Manual (Cereal Setting confusing) for all items. 1) Cream of Wheat came out sticky, I even stopped 1/2 through as getting for thick, sticky, & sticking to pot, a lot got wasted sticking to pot, 2) Basmati Rice came out very sticky in a big clump (not able to serve on a plate with Butter Chicken over it) would be better for a sushi rice and/or if you like the sticky rice (jasmine) & hard to get out of pot as pot spins as you try to reach in w/spoon included & get rice out, 3) Yellow Squash came out very nicely but for a family of 5 had to make 3 batches as steamer basket too small, 4) Chicken Tenders (w/slight flour coating), although cooked (white inside) came out slimy & tough inside, not appetizing to eat, might be alright if you didn't put on a coating? So sadly, the Hamilton Beach Rice Cooker & Steamer is not for my family even though I liked the idea of a healthy alternative to frying. As a suggestion, I keep the measuring cup & steamer basket in unit when not using as don't want to lose included measuring cup. But spoon d/n fit into unit. Maybe a hanger on the side of unit for spoon to store when not in use and keep everything together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took a minute to understand how to change cooking time but lwhen I did, QUICK AND EASY. I used it to steam frozen chicken w/ Jasmine rice. 45 minutes and YUMMY. Chicken cooked PERFECT and rice nice. then cooked frozen Brussel sprouts wonderfully. Don't know why I took so long to get a steamer. I LOVE IT!!!

Healthy Meals Got Easier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say my Hamilton Beach Rice Cooker & Food Steamer changed my cooking game quite a bit. Life gets busy and often it's not feasible to stop everything to cook healthy meals with the time at hand. I'm honestly glad that I bought this because it's simple to use and it has a wide variety of uses apart from cooking rice. Salmon and long grain rice? Chicken with quinoa? It's easy, put both in at the same time with a set it and forget it timer. Measure the appropriate water for servings and it does the rest. It even senses the amount of water left and adjusts the timer accordingly. I was able to do other things around the house(catching up on social media news too, ha) like helping out my daughter with her homework while it did all the work. Easy to use,(It has a button for white rice, hot cereal, whole grain, steam, and warm) easy to clean, and thankfully gives my cooking skill a boost by avoiding dry veggies or sticky rice. If this has anything against it I would say it would be that I wish the steamer basket was a tad larger. Otherwise, it's really great that it can be used for much more then rice and it helps greatly when your family is stuck with a busy schedule.
