Compact size, Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rice cooker and steamer is a nice compact size for storage in the kitchen. It does have an 8 cup capacity. I went to the Hamilton Beach website and looked for recipes to use with this cooker and found a coconut jasmine rice recipe and used it to try out this device. The recipe came out really good and my only complaint is the amount of time it takes to cook rice. It is not the fastest cooker out there and you should plan on around 45 minutes for jasmine rice. But it does cook it well. Having the steamer basket is a really nice feature. Steam up some shrimp to go with the rice!

Great Rice Steamer = Healthier Meals

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a chance to try out my new Hamilton Beach Rice Steamer this evening and have to say that I am very pleased. The rice steamer is very modern and sleek. The timer is digital which is a plus. This new rice steamer replaces a very old one I had (off brand) very nicely indeed. I feel like I have moved up in the world. For dinner this evening we had steamed rice, broccoli and chicken. It was a breeze cooking this for dinner. I just prepped the broccoli and chicken, rinsed the rice and placed in the steamer as directed and it was done in about 45 minutes. So easy and nice after a long day at work. I will be using this for a very long time. This is high quality Rice Steamer and I totally recommend this product. You can steam rice, whole grain, and hot cereal. It comes with a spoon and a two in one basket for steaming and rinsing rice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband passed away a few months ago. He hated rice, ate so much as a kid....when I saw this product, I just had to try it. I love rice and it is so much better for you than potatoes...plus you can steam veggies! I will use this at least once a week, if not more often. I never used to get rice cooked proerly. This is fool proof.

Wow!!! this cooker was not only fast, but my rice tasted great, I couldn’t believe the difference cooking it the HB rice cooker. It also makes great oatmeal.
I can’t wait to use it to steam salmon and vegetables.
Thank you Hamilton Beach for great products at a great price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This attractive and well made electric rice/grain cooker and steamer is, as expected from Hamilton Beach, a beautifully designed and functional appliance. I have been a carnivore my whole life; but am now at the age of ? wisdom/fear? (LOL!) that I am trying to incorporate 'heart-health ' grains into my diet. I have had a very difficult time getting it right w/ this cooker, due largely to the limited, unclear instructions. For example, it wasn't clear whether to cook steel-cut oatmeal as rolled oats ('classic oatmeal') or whole grains- my bad,,, using the whole grain setting, contents boiled over. what a mess; then found that there was no instruction in the manual on how to disassemble the cover for cleaning. I did figure it out, but so far this has been an exhausting adventure. My package did not include either recipes or the rice paddle, as described.It would help me to know what water temperature is associated w/ each setting.Since I knew the temperature of boiling water/steam, I was able to successfully cook frozen ravioli using the steam setting; but without knowing the temperature of the other settings, it is impossible to select the proper pre-set for non-listed grains and cereals, such as the steel-cut oatmeal.I plan to continue to experiment w/ this perfect- size- for- a -single- person cooker; and sincerely hope Hamilton Beach will improve the instruction manual.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family actually eats a lot of rice and this rice cooker has been very handy for making our rice and being able to steam our vegetables for it at the same time. I am considering getting a couple more of these as gifts for a couple of my kids since it is so easy and convenient. It is so easy to use that my son says he wants one to take to college with him. With all of the many uses for this cooker steamer, I highly recommend getting one.
