Great Mesh System
on May 29, 2019

I installed this Orbi AC3000 myself and was really happy with how simply it was to complete. People reported issues connecting Sonos and all I needed to do was connect my Sonos to the new Orbi SSID and then reboot the system through my web browser to get Sonos to connect directly to the router. Then the mesh AP's came online shortly after. The biggest reason I went with Orbi is it seemed that throughput was the best on this system vs. all other options. Secondly the coverage was much better than the other options. I no longer have mobile phone dead spots when I am connected to WiFi and my phone on a speed test gets a consistent 400Mbps down, 400Mpbs up regardless of where I am in the house. Highly recommend this system for anyone looking to upgrade their home wifi system.

Almost Perfect

I'm a Network guy and the Orbi really takes a lot of the "techness" out of the "router/network". This is great because homeowners want a system that is wonderful, fast and secure, but they seldom set up a traditional router fully. Orbi makes it easy to have a full mesh wifi system (a good one) up and running properly in very short order and the user is confident in it's operation. Very happy with the Orbi system with one recommendation.... Why not have the "ring" light on top glow constantly? Home owners would love to know it is working all the time and to what level.... You already have the cool colored light system in place.... Why have it go dormant? Makes no sense to me... It would be much cooler and the home owner would feel much more "assured" in their system.

Perfect

I did a fair amount of research on this product as well as the linksys and google systems, and from what I read most people preferred this system. I must say, I'm very happy with my choice. I live in a 2400 sq ft home, so I have a router and one satellite. The coverage is flawless over the entire house and i even get WiFi outside in my front yard and back yard. The download speed and upload speed are as advertised, and the satellite works perfectly. I used the mobile app to set up and it was super easy. I need a good router system on top of strong internet because I game and normally have multiple devices connected and running at a time, and this system hasn't skipped a beat. I highly recommend this system to anyone who is thinking about upgrading their router equipment.

Better than Apple
on May 29, 2019

I had the old Apple Airport Extreme system and it used to drop WiFi connections every single day. This is so much better and I am able to block internet connection if my kid are using the iPad more than allotted. Also this does get range of more than 7500 sq meter probably because of my walls.
The two issue I had was below:
- I tried the initial setup using the Orbi app but it crashed and I had re setup 2 times but a call with the support solved that issue
- I use a VPN (Pulse Secure) to connect to my office, for a long time I couldn't figure out the issue why I was not able to connect. Through research online, I found out that this was due to not enabling VPN in the router setup. If you use VPN, you should enable that option through routers setting on the computer.

Orbi Home System - WAP Success
on May 29, 2019

For over several years I was looking for system that had better coverage in our house. 7000 square-foot and three levels to cover. Previously we had a great Netgear wireless router with repeaters, but that had connection issues at times and weak areas in the house. With the installation of the Orbi and three satellites strategically placed have us unbelievable speeds through the house. What sold me on Orbi was the Tri-Band setup and of course the name brand. I found the Tri-Band has a huge benefit over other home area networks that are on the market. The main thing is speed. With today's streaming devices and required speeds, the Orbi is a good choice. Do your research and check reviews and specs like I did. Perhaps a little more pricey, but the return value is worth it.

Best improvement to my internet connection
on May 29, 2019

I have been desperately trying to get my wireless network to work consistently for over two years. I have changed routers. Check my providers connection. Had their access point replaced and more with no improvement. I finally decided to try a mesh router. After talking to several people and doing some research online I decided to get the Orbi. It was a great choice. So far I have had full internet connectivity with no dropped signals. I still have the same obstacles like aluminum siding and large distances but now everyone is connected and happy. I was even able to connect my sprinkler system controller, which is outside, with no problems. The only thing I might do is get another satellite to see if I can improve my outdoor coverage. I am very happy with this upgrade to my network

Fantastic Mesh system, plug-n-play

Our house WiFi was part of a 'gateway' (modem/router combo) as provided by our ISP. While we are on fiber and have great up/down speed, the dual channel gateway did a poor job of handling device hierarchy and making sure devices which support 5ghz actually end up on the 5ghz. Enter Orbi....router upstairs, satellite downstairs. This thing automatically hands off devices based on best available access point, and does an amazing job of making sure devices are all delegated amongst available bandwidth. The app is a little lackluster, but if you want more advanced settings the web UI provides it all. Overall, we are extremely happy with Orbi. WiFi coverage is maxed out, not a single weak spot across our entire property (not just the house'”backyard, front yard, garage...you name it!)

Exceeded expectations

I thought my ISP was choking but it was actually my router. Constantly having to unplug and reset my WiFi, now that the WiFi is coming from the tri-band Orbi, my network is screaming fast and has no issues whatsoever.
Instantaneously I had full coverage in my 2800sqft house when I could barely get any signal just 30 feet from th router. No I can hardwire devices into the satellite upstairs (great for the philips hue hub) and the issues I once had with my z-wave devices going haywire while my philips hue hub was plugged in. I can't say enough good things about how great it is having a mesh network. I know the price tag seems steep but it's a one time expense for a product that greatly improves literally every task that requires an internet connect (ie everything we do nowadays).
