Was very easy to set up. It in About one hour or less. Put right into my system and ran well. So I was easy to hook up as long as you did it in the same room as the router before he moved elsewhere in the house. Download time went from the low 30s to greater than 100. Upgraded the firmware and no untoward events occurred. It has been two weeks, and I've had no loss of Internet service as often reported in the websites. So far, I am very happy with the system and it has performed very well. Was able to hardwire my TV from the satellite has been working much better. Bought the system with some trepidation after reading all the complaints on the Internet, but so far, everything has been very good to excellent. Hope it stays that way.

Fantastic Equipment

This router has been absolutely fantastic. I didn't want to purchase a new router but I'm glad I decided on this after doing a lot of research. Biggest item that has been a great experience is the large decrease in interference in my household with all my electronics. My other router was acting up so much, even when analyzing the channels around me and swapping them around, I couldn't even use my baby monitor cam because the wireless connection between the camera and tablet kept dropping. Now the signal is on all of the time. I'd like to add that the setup process was very simple so if you are wanting to upgrade your network and you are afraid of trying to set it up on your own, trust me you will be fine. Fantastic job Netgear!

I deployed the Orbi mesh system in my house of 3000 sqft. Since ranch layout, had outlying bedrooms where Linksys AC1900 router could not offer decent signal. Had tried wifi extenders, but they have the problem of cutting bandwidth in half. Orbi, as most current mesh systems, uses a backhaul channel as transport between Router and Satellites. Setup couldnt have been easier. I did find it beneficial to watch YouTube videos before setup, and following the steps correctly is important. I have mostly Apple devices in my household (ATVx4, iPadx4, iPHONEx4, iMACx2, MacBOOKx3) and all support 802.11ac. Signal strength is good all areas of house and get full bandwidth for the devices with no dead spots. You can NOT go wrong with Orbi!!!

Powerful & Easy

I bought the Orbi system after installing some security cameras that were located far from my original router and the video feed was glitchy from a poor wifi signal. I researched wifi extenders and mesh systems and ultimately decided on the Orbi for a few reasons. As I connect more and more wifi devices I wanted features that not only extended my range but also something that accommodated for future devices. The dedicated radio frequency that the Orbi units use to communicate rather than taking up precious bandwidth was a key feature. The independent positive reviews were also helpful in making my decision, and ultimately, Netgear's history in this product category. The system is powerful and easy to setup, especially with the mobile app.

Great Coverage!

I upgraded to this Wifi Router because I wanted to "cut the cord" from high satellite TV fees. Two of my televisions are on the far side of the house from my main router so I had to rely on wired connections. Adding this mesh network from Netgear has worked brilliantly! I have coverage on my deck and I no longer have to have a wired connection. I even purchased an Amazon Recast to distribute over the air antenna TV stations. This device depends on Wifi so it was necessary to have great through-put, coverage & dependability. The Orbi has not disappointed. Ease of installation, ease of use, great coverage, dependable. Wow, what else do you need?! If you're looking to upgrade your Wifi, you should very seriously consider the Orbi Mesh family.

Blown Away!!!

I recently upgraded from a first generation Wireless AC router from a competitor, along with an extender, that struggled to get decent signal to all the nooks and crannies of my 2200 sq. ft. house.
I did a ton of research about options, and eventually selected the Orbi RBR50 system. I am so amazed by the results, that I will never go back to a traditional router / extender set up.
I get consistent connections and max speed all over my house. I run 4k streams on multiple devices without buffering. I game upstairs on my PC while my wife is streaming music from Spotify in the den without any impact on ping.
If you have a larger space, or have a multi-story set up like mine, this system is going to meet and exceed your expectations.

The Easiest Most Power WiFi Router
on May 29, 2019

I have had multiple wifi routers over the years - but none of them would get to the parts of the house i needed - i tried extenders and they were ok but required logging in to that extender when you went to that part of the house - all confusing and annoying. Finally I found Orbi + 0ne satalite - Simply the most powerful and easiest router to set up i have ever encountered. It fills the house with a powerful signal and does not require different passwords - its all on the same network. I have the Orbi phone app for the router that alerts me to new router firmware and I can configure my network etc all through the app - The Orbi system is honestly the best and i would recommend to anyone who needs wifi that is simply powerful everywhere.

Only system that worked

Change of ISP resulted in only 5ghz being usable so the Synology router's signal at ends of large house was not enough anymore. I tested adding a Amplifi HD Meshpoint, 4 unit Google Wifi and Orbi. Amplifi can extend 1 SSID which was ok but the guest network was still weak. The 5ghz signal speedtest did show about 66% drop. Google Wifi was ok and extended both SSIDs(main and guest) but speed at far end of home was still at 66%. Surprisingly, the Orbi resulted in just about full speed test results at end of house. Orbi also supported OpenVPN unlike Google. I've been happy and amazed with the results. Only issue is that the Orbi GUI does not allow for splitting the 2.4 and 5ghz SSIDs so I had to look at online forums for instructions.
