Orbi

Easiest network setup ever. True plug and play. Hardest part was using that correct provided password. Enter the correct password, answer a few questions and the Orbi does the rest. Coverage is vastly improved and because of the extra built in Ethernet ports, I was able to remove a couple of stand alone hubs. System appears more stable and so far I'm happy with the speeds.

Solved all of my problems
on May 29, 2019

Boy did I have dead spots in my house. For instance, our bedroom (completely across the house from my router) had no WiFi and I had to always switch to cellular when I was in certain areas of my house to stream videos. Once I installed the Orbi satellite in the room beneath our bedroom, it immediately gave me full service. I'm actually typing my review from the bedroom. :-)

Exactly what I needed
on May 29, 2019

Before Orbi I could not stream video on the floor below where my old router was located. The so-fi signal was good but I could only get 1Mbps and my service was for 18Mbps. The Orbi was incredibly easy to set up, and I have full signal strength now everywhere in my ~4000sq ft home with no loss of speed. I also love that my network is easily controlled through the iPhone app.

Very Pleased

This review is for the Orbi AC3000 (came with one satellite). It was very easy to setup. My internet provider tech staff walked me through turning off the router in the modem and the Orbi took over as soon it was hooked up. Our internet previously was spotty upstairs and we had dropouts frequently downstairs. After installing the Orbi we have continuous coverage everywhere.

Great Coverage
on May 29, 2019

The router and single satellite system has provided excellent coverage of my sprawling ranch home to the furthest bedroom previously unconnected to Wifi. The system was also relatively easy and intuitive to set up. The ethernet ports on modem and the satellite were much needed replacing an outdated Apple Airport and work flawlessly. I could not be more pleased with the system.

Great way to extend the home network
on May 29, 2019

The Orbi has been an absolute godsend. I used to have extenders throughout the house, but moving amongst the different coverage areas meant for inconsistent connectivity and a poor experience, especially when using WiFi calling. The Orbi mesh network has made moving from one end of the house to the other a seamless process and our connectivity has never been more consistent.

Easy setup, lightning fast

Setting up the Orbi WiFi through the Orbi app was, by far, the easiest WiFi setup...ever! I have never had such fast upload and download speeds, as I do with the Orbi, and WiFi coverage in my home is seamless. The app is very helpful in determining what devices are connected to the Orbi at any given time. I have recommended the Orbi to many people, and I'm not even a techie!!!

Replacing ageing airport setup

Plug. Scan. Play.
So far everything has been working fine. Only thing I don't like is the lights on top. What do the colors mean? I need a decoder ring to figure it out. Just put a few leds on a the back for diagnosing makes it so much easier.
Waiting to set up some other features but for now it's up and running. Dedicated app is nice and remote monitoring is a bonus.
