I bought this model to replace my HP 4630. This model is more expensive and prints slower than the older model. Why would anybody want a slower printer?? Terrible

I’m sorry that you’re so disappointed in your printer. It’s no surprise that you feel put off here, considering your previous printer cost less and printed faster. I want to help you remedy the print-speed problem, so I’ll direct you to several resources I hope will guide you to that end.
First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; it contains sections on Windows as well as Mac OS. Find that guide here:

Also, updating the firmware can often help improve print speed and other performance. You can find out how to do that here:

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number

Copying and scanning is more difficult with this configuration. Additionally, copying and scanning created a long stripe in the middle of the document, which made copies and scans unusable. I returned this printer and bought a traditional flatbed unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
