Active Key

We use these phones for our business and now they have been rendered useless because Samsung locked the active key and we need that key to use ATT Push to talk Feature? Its no longer an active key its a useless bixby button. SO lame!

Can't get the small things right

For the most part the phone works fine. However the fingerprint sensor is just bad, it's in a bad position on the back of the phone and struggles to work about half of the time. I have been trying for awhile to get a heartbeat reading and it keeps telling me to center my finger, be I've tried everything different position I can and it still won't read my fingerprint. Samsung phones still have a problem with apps lagging. Also even with the toughness of the phone it is so slippery that you would be wise to get a car anyway. With the price of this phone what it is these problems are really unacceptable. Will be returning

Terrible glass but works great

Super disappointing after just a few days of use when I found out my screen was getting scratched by just my blue jean material and my finger swipes. I should have returned it but I decided to keep it anyway thinking maybe it won't shatter as easy. Just a down side to this screen material possibly? Had I known better I would have bought a screen protector immediately when I bought it.
I do love how fast it is and after a year of use I haven't broken it yet but my screen does have several pecks so that could be coming soon.
Overall not that impressed mainly due to the screen.

It's good but.....

I like it, Ill get use to the features that are missing but this is what I want to come back for future active phones.
In my opinion people who buy active phones don't want everything, we want a durable and simple product.
This phone is not as durable as past actives, my s5 active was my favorite. That thing could take anything you did to it. This phone is big, almost too big. I think it is heavier than most phones, I don't like that either. The screen is too big, again the s5 active was perfect size, not too big, not too small. I could easily reach everything and the screen responded perfectly. Why do we not have a physical home button? I miss that. Why the bixby button? The programmable button was great. This is not shock proof. It should have a cover over the charging port to further protect it. We want durable, not a super large screen that will probably break easier. The software is good, I don't like all the settings, but I'll live and adapt to that.
It is a great quality phone thou, I will give it that. I just wish it was smaller and had a little more durability. All in all I am happy with this, I will use it (because I dont like any other current phones).
If I could buy a new phone I would buy the S5 active with new hardware/software on the inside. That phone was stellar and could handle life and anything you throw at it. You need to realize this phone is already a small(er) market than the flagship s8. Add all your fancy stuff to the other ones and make this one more durable, and smaller. we go on adventures with this phone, no need for it to not fit comfortably in my pocket

It's ok.

My only complaint is that I cannot log into Facebook using the S8 active. I can log in with my computer or even my 5 year old blackberry (using wifi). I bought this phone to replace my other phone. I am a firefighter and I needed something that will handle what I put my last phone (kyocera duraforce) through. "we'll see".
I would recommend this to a friend!
