So, overall it is a decent phone. So might be best to list what I think are the pros and cons. Pros: Very long battery life, screen doesn't have curved edge, rugged case, new USB connecter Cons Bixby (don't need it or want it), larger size, can't customize the lock screen clock
My main drawback to this phone is its size.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Tough phone

I loved my galaxy before, but this phone took it up a notch. The battery lasts forevvvveeerrrr, and doesn't get hot. I use my phone in the most literal way possible, it is an active and is tough like advertised. I hike, bike, walk, go muddin, fishing, boating, do it all, this phone is made for it. Dropped it several times and still in great condition. Do not have a case for it either, I just buy protective glass. The active button is worth its while, if you are trying to live a healthy lifestyle it makes it so easy to keep count of steps, miles biked, etc. Also allows to keep track of food, calories, snacks, all of it. This phone is meant for people who live in the real world, work hard everyday and play even harder. I will most defiantly be getting the s8 active. Well done, Samsung.

active line

i started out with the rugby pro and was highly impressed with it even ran it over in my driveway by accident with a ram 1500 with the screen on the concrete and didnt do anything to it from that point i've been hooked on the durability of samsung's outdoor oriented phones. the s7 active ran and still does run like a champ despite being dropped on concrete, asphalt, or gravel on a daily basis and the only thing that happened was a few discoloration lines appeared in the screen. so far the s8 active has been going strong very responsive, very clean picture, haven't had any heating issues, it's almost like a slightly bigger, improve s7 active. if samsung keeps up with these tough phones this line will always be my number 1 choice.

I've had this phone almost a month now and so far it has lived up to the legacy of its predecessors. I've dropped it a couple times, even chipping the glass screen protector and the devices screen is still exactly as it was when I received the device. Battery lasts a long time, and it's a good deal faster than my S7 Active. The upgrade was a great decision!

Greta phone. Long lasting battery. Screen just smudges and scratches easily.

Had this phone for 2 weeks now, I've had the active line exclusively, this phone carries the quality and design as it's predicessors. The main issues I have with the phone are the fingerprint reader moved to the back and the inability to reprogram the activity button (only bixby). Other than that, I love it

Samsung galaxy s8 Active

I got the s8 Active to stay with the Samsung line and continue with the Active series as well. I am happy so far with the battery life (once again lasts through a whole day) and the overall look of the phone. It is a bit larger than my s7 Active was so that was kind of a downplay also the active key is opposite what it was on the s7 Active as well. Losing the buttons at the bottom of the phone is a little bit of a hassle as the full effect screen makes you have to activate those keys to back up, go home, or split and see history. I really am also not very happy with the responsiveness of the keyboard as it does not respond fast enough and I miss letters sometimes. I am figuring that is in the settings or I just need a different keyboard. I have been with Samsung since the skyrocket and will probably be with them for the foreseen future. I even tried the note and the galaxy series both and have had similar experiences but with my job it comes in handy to have the water proof military grade and now that the screen is shatterproof as well it may last me a while.

Decent Phone with Flaws

The Bixby button just gets in the way, the camera could be better with higher resolution and of course the fingerprint sensor being right next to the camera lens is a big facepalm but otherwise a solid, speedy phone with all the features I wanted.
