Great phone. Wish I didn't wait so long to get it.

This phone is awesome. I went from a Galaxy S8 to the S8 Active. I couldn't be happier. First off, no more curved screen. I hate the curved screen. I am very rough so I need a tough case like an otterbox to cover the screen and back.
The battery life is heavy duty. I used to kill my S8 battery by lunch time but this one can go well past dinner with great battery life. The phone is very rugged. I was told I didn't need a case but I put one on anyway to protect it.
The camera is awesome, the screen is very bright and detailed. The phone runs super fast. I owned this phone about 3 months now and I couldn't be happier. Since I have T-Mobile jump, I am waiting for the S9 Active to switch to it.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Built-in speakers

Great phone with great features

Best Active phone yet. Performance is great, everything on the phone opens and operates quickly. I put a tempered glass protector on it right away due to reviewers stating that the screen can scratch easily. The battery life is incredible, better than most phones for sure. You can easily make it through a day or more without charging. The screen is awesome, colors are vivid and true. No issues during calls so far. Now there are 2 things about the S8 Active I don't care for. The Bixby button should be able to be remapped to whatever I like, kinda like the S7 Active. Instead it can only be disabled. I use a third party app to remap the button. So not really that big a deal, just a minor annoyance. Also, the lack of physical buttons bothers me. I like them better than the on-screen capacitive buttons. Again, not a huge deal but something I'd rather not have. Overall, the phone is perfect for me because I hate having to baby my phone all the time and the S8 Active is a tough phone that can take some punishment. I need the extended battery life as I'm a heavy user throughout the day for work.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable
Cons: no physical buttons, can't remap bixby button without third party app

I am so happy with the sturdy build of this phone. It's fast and takes great pictures. The battery is amazing. The phone is heavy, but I mean that in a good way, you can just feel that it's durable. I highly recommend the active for people who are out and about.

I lead an active life and the Active features work perfectly for me. You get an amazing S8 Galaxy wrapped in a military spec case that doesn't make it look like the Michelin man. Add a tempered glass screen protector and you are set. And yes, your friends are going to say "Wow, what phone is that?" Especially after you pull it out of your pocket after someone pushes in you the pool! This is my third Galaxy Active and I won't look elsewhere as long as it's available.

I have these for all 5 of my family members. We have a problem keeping a hold of our phones...lol! I hope they keep making the active phones.

I bought by this phone with the hopes it could keep up with work demands and rugged play at home. It has far exceeded my expectations and continued to perform. Just shy of 2 years in constant use, only now is it showing wear. I'm not sure where the other low star reviewers got their phones, but it seems there may have been a batch of lemons. The scratch resistant screen has retained Knicks and is not as clear, but continues to function without fail. It has been in rain, water, oil and sand with no issues. Really scared by the oil. It has been dropped multiple times. Face flat, corners, back and every other angle without cracks or major damage. I actually first found this phone on my local base and had the civilian store near me order it. I am very pleased with its use.
