Bring back the S8 Active!

this phone is 4 years old, and outperforms any rugged samsung sold now!
i don't want goofy pogopins, a low-rez screen, or a small battery...i just want a new s8 active.

Rugged, Durable, Reliable!!

Over the weekend while guiding a meditation & mindfulness paddle, I dropped and lost my phone in the Haw River-Saxapahaw Lake...WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PLACE IT IN A DRY BAG! THAT FLOATS!! The kayak trip ended 3 hours later, and I returned to the office and let my manager and the others know what happened. Without the slightest hesitation, my manager leaped from his seat and said: “Let’s go, we got to find your phone!”
We spent an additional 3 hours in the water combing the lake. Finally, we decided to call it quits and head to shore.
Seconds later, he resurfaced with his hands up holding my phone as if he was holding Excalibur, shouting: “I found a phone but I don’t think it’s yours!” Ahahahahahahahaha!!
If you want a rugged, durable, badass phone, get the Samsung Galaxy 8 Active! She (I call her Cerebra) is a BEAST! THIS IS THE BEST PHONE! 6 hours in 6 feet of water STILL ON AND FULLY FUNCTIONING!

GET A SCREEN PROTECTOR

Performance wise I love it, there are some kinks to work out with the predictive text, such as preferring two or three nonsense words over what you are trying to write. The screen is supposedly durable but as a result it is so soft its absurd. I try to have a very light touch, but you can still see wear marks where I do the unlock pattern and scroll. Maybe put on a more durable top coat over the gorilla glass, our just throw a screen protector on from the factory.
It is big, but I have large hands so it doesn't bother me, the weight isn't really an issue, and given the amazing battery life, it's a trade-off I'm willing to make.

I have dropped from ladders, dropped on tile, concrete and even accidentally dropped-kicked it being too much in a rush. I use the unicorn beetle case and never even a scratch.
Truly, the most rugged phone ever!!!

It's waterproof, and that's no joke!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] yesterday, a kayak that i was rowing capsized. my backpack, which had my samsung galaxy s8 active in it, was completely submerged for several minutes. after i righted the boat and eventually got back home, i initially got a message saying that "moisture was detected" by the charging port. i let the phone dry out, and used a wireless samsung charging stand to charge it. after charging to 100%, i restarted the phone, and the "moisture detected" alert was gone and my phone was as good as new! this phone is amazing!
