I absolutely LOVE it!!!

When purchasing this phone, my buying point was that my new device needed to be sturdy and able to endure falling, ect.. Seeing as how my 4 yr old obliterated my S7 on 2 drops. This pics...this phone is durable, sleek, and seems almost indestructable. Everyone that sees it loves it.... I'm glad I found the S8 Active!!!

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active vs. S8 Active.
I have had it for a few months now. Here is what im starting to notice.
This newer phone is wider and taller and heavier, making one handed operation less ergonomical and more uncomfortable with the weight of the phone resting on your pinky. You will use two hands on your S8 active. The S5 was a ergomical phone for one handed use.
This Phone's camera seems to have an issue focusing, I have taken pictures on both and my S5 is taking noticeably higher detail photos.
You can no longer replace your battery, when it dies so does your phone.
The charge port and phone jack are on the same side, the bottom, making listening to music and charging at the same time more uncomfortable to hold than the older generation.
The charge port has no plastic cover as it before, it will get dirty now. You will get irritated cleaning it.
The screen rotation sensor sucks. I never had to shake my S5 to get the thing to flip out of landscape. I have to shake this phone. This is not an improvement.
Many years have passed for technology to "improve" and many more dollars were spent buying this phone for naught. These might seem small. But not when you were used to the conveniences of the older phone, and having to pay for not getting them on the new phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best phone I've owned

I've had this phone almost 1 year. Have not had 1 single problem with it. I broke 9 phones last year. If I cannot break it, than there is no excuse for anyone else to break it.

S8 ACTIVE SHOULD BE RECALLED

My Galaxy S7 was a better phone. I got this one because it is supposed to be stronger. It is NOT. It dropped 2 feet off a coffee table and the screen cracked and the body got a dent. Luckily I had purchased a screen protector or the screen damage would have been worse. Now after paying an additional insurance deductable for a replacement phone I will need to purchase another screen protector plus a case. So much for those extras not being necessary. HA! My S7 also did a better job getting an internet connection and taking a screen shot. This model should be RECALLED. This purchase is a huge regret. Normally I love Galaxy products. DO NOT PURCHASE THE S8 ACTIVE.

I’ve had the actives 6,7 and now the 8 I own a construction company so I’m very had on phones the 8 that I have now I ran it over with a 21,000 lb excavator it put a small bend in the phone and cut in the first layer of screen that’s it still works I build sea walls and boat houses so I’m in and out of the water all the time my phone never leaves my pocket never had even 1 problem with it great job Samsung

amazing phone

stepped up from an S6. the s8 active has blown me away. im a heavy youtube/mobile game user and i stream music almost all day. i dont have to charge it at all during the day, and usually have almost half a battery left when i go to bed. it does not have the curved glass which is a huge plus do to how hard i am on phones. it seems very durable with the metal body, and rubber bumpers on the corners.
