Tuff to the Bone!

What a phone. I was so sad when my S5 Active took a dump. Then the shiny new. S8 Active showed up in the mail (extremely fast)...... minus getting used to the lack of the wonderful IR sensor, the hard buttons, the return of the temperature sensor,and the size upgrade. It is a phone as tough as you will get buying Any other foo foo phone while spending an extra 15% of what other phones are worth on a screen protector and case. Only to still fall short of the sheer strength of the S8 Active.
Mine has smacked the rough concrete over a dozen times. Only to force me to sand paper the sharp edges that absorbed the impact while saving the screen from an early
death. I cannot wait for the S10 Active Olive Drab Tungsten. I'll be a great tester.

I don't like cell phones, but I love this one.

I don't like cell phones, and wouldn't own one at all if I didn't work a job where I really do need one. Since I have to own a cell phone, I may as well own a good one, and this one is that indeed. The screen is clear and visible w/o the brightness being turned all the way up, like I had to do with my previous phone. The phone's speaker is loud enough that I can use it as a speaker phone while driving, so no need to wear uncomfortable Bluetooth headphones all day at work anymore. The battery life is incredible, using the phone as a gps and streaming satellite radio at the same time the battery still lasts 6+ hours before needing to be charged. Charging is fast, only about an hour and a half to go from 10% to 100%. This phone works perfectly with my VR headset, which allows me to get some enjoyment out of what would otherwise just be an obnoxious job necessity. This phone has more storage than the first few computers I owned, and it's fast at loading apps and browsing the web. In short, if you need a phone, get a good one, and this phone is well worth considering, clear call quality, clean visible screen, loud and clear audio, large storage capacity, excellent battery life and fast charging, and all packed into a durable metal frame with shatter resistant screen.

Had a Galaxy 6 Active. Both very similar, but the Galaxy 8 Active is more responsive. Of course the battery was going bad on the G6. Really love the phone.
