Unreasonable Settings Complexity

I have spent 2 months, now, reading guides to JUST SET UP MY SETTINGS. It's impossible! I wanted to be able to give this phone a great review but, it's not really feasible. In all seriousness to disable notifications go to Settings > notifications Simple, right? Nope! Notification settings have 3 DIFFERENT pages of settings, that I have found, so far. Settings > Notifications Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings Settings > Lock Screen and Security > Notifications
Even still I receive notifications from apps with no permission to do so. Then, the icing on the cake, is that every hour certain apps GIVE THEMSELVES NOTIFICATION ACCESS! It's usually the apps that have notifications you can't swipe away. I have resigned myself to never being able to have a non-cluttered lock screen. Think about that and remember that Google Location keeps track of everywhere you go, and how you get there... sending it to a company famous for meticulously building a profile on YOU. "So disable it, then!" Well, other apps can remove my blockages so...
Why the 1 stars? Features: You have to set up your features... and the settings are impossible to locate: it makes sense why google is so involved in this phone because, you're going to be Googling an awful lot to try setting this guy up. Performance: well, the settings are how you optomize performance... enough said. Design: The phone is capable of surviving an atomic bomb, it seems... and by the time you're done trying to configure it, you'll be begging to test that theory. The menus are part of program design and thus, all it's snazzy looks are outweighed by it's impractical layout. Value / Overall: the phone does whatever it wants and hides it's setting all over the place. It's like they started make menus and realized they forgot features on those menus. Instead of remaking the menu with all the relevant information in one place, they just kept adding menus. More than that half the menus are hats, on hats, on hats, with very little distinction between this menu or that... but hey the last menu didn't change anything so this one has to, right? Wrong. If you can't use it effectively it has no value.
Pros: Durable, heavy as sin (great for self defense?)
Cons: a phone and a little voyeur in your pocket, impossibly complex settings menus, inability to control apps (dangerous), 12 hours to charge fully without the speed charge
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

off the top of my head the phone is missing some features like the delayed message sending. Most people didnt even know about so if i hit send with out rereading my messages or i was sending the wrong message to the wrong person i could stop the message from being sent. then I have been waiting on a new phone with a removable battery since the galaxy s5 active but i finally had to give in on this one i just bought the s8 active. I personally do not like the folder feature i like being able to go through everything in alphabetical order.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight, battery life
Cons: Did not meet expectations, features, more holes to get water and dirt into, active button, how you have to access the micro sd and sim cards
I would recommend this to a friend!

My S4 had better Talk to txt feature then this phone. Its quite sad. Some people don't care for this feature but lets face facts. The future is here and Talk to txt is that future, so with that being said Samsung has failed to deliver. Plain and simple.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

Curve screen

First of all I have always kept my phone's intact, in good conditions and because of it, I have always been able to give them in trading. I always loved Samsung until they came with the curves on the side of the phone and now there no option to where if you want it or not. My first curve screen phone is the Galaxy s8 and I dislike it with a passion, I wasn't able to find a case with a gorilla screen protector that would actually stay in place, I was only able to use the phone, but without the screen protector, if there is one out there is too late, a month after I got the phone I dropped it and it cracked. It's almost time to renew my contract with Verizon, and I went looking for a Samsung, when I saw that they still make the phones with the curve I was really disappointed, now I will be switching to Google Pixel 3 just to get rid of the curved screen. Hopefully I'll be able to switch back to Samsung once they get rid of the curved screen. I do really like Samsung I just don't like the idea of the curb. Which I don't even know what exactly is for.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Anywhere you hold the phone, pocket, bag, it opens new apps always. It is not because of viruses and if you have it on max security, it will open new apps. An obnoxious phone to have. The J7 was a more tech reliable phone. The active has very good pictures, but not something that should make anyone buy a phine

This phone is junk! I wish I could go back to the day I made the mistake of buying this piece of garbage. The keyboard constantly stops working and it's always one thing after another and the samsung folks act like they don't have a clue to what their doing half the time. Needless to say, this will be the last Samsung phone or electronic device I ever purchase again. Lesson learned.
