Not waterproof, not water resistant, not so smart

Took my mom to the beach for her very first time ever this summer.. stayed 5 days.. couldn't use my phone/camera past the evening of day 2..wtf...because IT WAS IN A BAG OF RICE..the stupid thing thought it was wet.. kept saying, moisture detected in the charging port... AND WOULD NOT CHARGE... I take a lot of pictures because I have kids and this was something that my mom had never done and dreamed of doing all her life and is on her bucket list so pictures are memories but when your phone is not working you can't take those pictures... or have contact with the people back home waiting for our call
.or emergencies...
Yes we was at beach but at NO TIME was my phone in the water .. the closest thing to coming into contact with any water was possibly my barley damp hands, which before i even would touch the zip lock bag that my phone was in i was triple sure to dry off real good....
1.) I was being very careful with it because I wasn't for sure if it was waterproof or resistant or not..........AND
2.) I didn't want my phone to mess up on me on this trip because I was hoping to capture some amazing memories to take home for all to see and to treasure ...
so I was being super cautious and protective. I'm always super cautious , and protective anyways ,because that thing is super expensive....
Apparently its not so smart. It only thought it was wet because I know it was not. It spent three days in a bag of rice and everyday I would take it out and blow dry it on cool settings, a total of 3 - 4 hours I took away from my family by trying to get my phone to working for our special trip full of uncaptured moments..

First off it was way above my budget to begin with but I decided to splurge because of all their grand "promises" of how wonderful this phone is. And as far as their Promises of being waterproof and shatterproof, I beg to differ! I have had far more problems with this one phone and I have had with all of my previous phones put together! In the past I would guesstimate that two-thirds of the phones that I have owned have been through Samsung and half of those have been Galaxy phones, and I have never had anything even remotely close to being is problematic as this Galaxie S 8 active phone. I definitely won't be replacing this phone with another Galaxy S8 active I'll get and upgrade but it'll be to a different model of phone save your money don't even try one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is by far the best active. I waited 6 months for it to come out before upgrading for. The s5 active.

Excellent

I think it's an excellent phone. It's not that different from s6 active, I have cermaic tile dloors and I've dropped it a couple times with no damage. I absolutely love the color which has a pink undertone so some of the may not want. =)

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active

I love this phone. I started out with the first Samsung Galaxy for the beginning and all the way through to the 8. Each phone , has been getting faster and faster. More memory and better cameras. I recommend this phone to anyone who wants a phone that has all the same features as the regular phones, but you don't have to worry about dropping it in water or a window. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
