Excellent performance, just a couple issues

I purchased this in August 2020 as the center piece of our kitchen remodel. I spent months online looking for specific features and reviews and came up with this, which then drove the rest of my appliance purchases (we did a full Cafe kitchen). My wife is an excellent chef, and could be professional if she wanted to be.
This is a beast of a range. It is only six inches wider than a standard range but it fills that space out completely. The hardware on it is clean, with just the Cafe band on the handle to provide any break from the commercial kitchen look. The range top is all business with an inch wide bezel on each side and the rest being the reversible grills.
The oven is very spacious, with a three trays, one that rides on bearings, and it fits a half sheet with a bit of room to spare. It heats up quickly and consistently. The broil functions work well, however the door must be closed to use it. This may just be due to it being gas, as all of my electrical ovens would have it work with the door being open. On the top rack, browning is a little inconsistent with the heat concentrating in the middle. I may see if it works better to let it "preheat" and then put items in with it at full heat. The bearing loaded rack is great, although a bit tricky to move, but it can handle a full size turkey, ham or cast iron pot with no issues rolling. The convection settings (roast and bake) we haven't used as much, but I found that convection bake makes it easier to bake two pizzas at the same time. The proof setting did its job. The only issue we've had so far is that the igniter died suddenly had to be replaced under warranty about a year after we bought it.
The range top has been mostly flawless. I've used all of the burners at once a couple of times and as long as the oven isn't on I have enough juice to do it. The range on the temperatures makes dialing in a specific temperature very easy. The top end is a little bare though as boiling a pot of water takes a much longer time than when we used elements or glass tops. The reversible grates are a cool addition if you use something like a wok, which we have. The burners are sealed which means you don't have to worry about it when deep cleaning, however a lot of junk ends up getting into the burner area. Once the grate holders are off cleaning is a snap.
I am surprised it doesn't have any smart features since it uses a temp probe. Maybe there is an issue running the oven when not at home.
Overall the fit and finish is great. I can't say flawless because the igniter has already failed once on us, and the boil time is sort of ridiculous. This is our first gas range though, and I understand that gas is fairly energy inefficient compared to electric options so that might be normal.

Great appliance... when it's not broken

I was super excited to have this appliance delivered in 3/20. Simple, clean design and powerful burners throughout. It was already broken by that December. It took months to have it repaired with several trips and several pieces replaced. Now just a few months out of warranty, another part has failed and I have to start paying to repair this new, already expensive unit. When I call, I'm only offered service I can pay for (I was also offered an option to buy a new one at a discount??), which I imagine I will be doing for the life of this product. Can't wait to replace this in the future and never have another cafe product in its place.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Two years in

This has been a good range and oven. Range is okay, but for the price and the 18kBTU I would have expected them to be hotter/faster. They are not hot enough to really use a wok with. I also find them much too large to use with normal sized pans, I have gradually been buying larger ones. The newer one now comes with burners that work with smaller pans. Also I would assume it would come with the center grill - you have to buy that extra. The oven is great with large area and great cooking.

Love my Cafe Range. It has 6 burners, spacious and easy to use. Love that the oven is 36” which makes it large and able to fit a lot of food at once. Would defiantly recommend this product!

Igniter Problems

This supposedly professional Cafe range was installed by the buider. So, it came with the house. We have been living in the house forlessthan3 years and have had to repace the igniter twice. It takes 3 - 5 business days to get the part. It is outrageous that I can not use the oven for several days. As a result of my experience with this supposedly excellent range, I will never buy any GE product.

Might have a lemon... igniters are a real problem

2 years old and the third oven igniter just blew so I'm coming back to leave a review. When it works it's a nice range but at this point, out of warranty and these igniters are expensive we're seriously considering just replacing it.
