SHORT LIFE! Junk.

Builder purchased 2020 same exact problem as the last reviewer. Loud noise and humming noise. Was told is has to be replaced!

We have this unit and the magnetron started sparking, buzzing and smoking. Our house was built in October of 2019 and this Garbage came with the house! THIS IS NOT NORMAL. We had a Garbage GE in our previous house and it never acted like that and lasted 16 Years!

I bought this to replace a 15 year old unit that finally gave up the ghost. Unable to find a replacement to fit the existing trim frame, also bought and installed the trim kit. Didn't take long to realize this whirlpool microwave was a BIG mistake. Within the 1st year, the carrousel and fan would continue running after the door opened, and sounded as if the "microwave" was still on. I was able to determine it was just the fan running. It continued to operate this way until I disconnected power and it reset (I guess). This same scenario repeats itself every so often. Today, lights up, but won't start/run...disconnected power to reset. NOTE: to reset, have to remove trim, remove unit from built-in enclosure, and unplug for 30 minutes. Since reading all the other negative reviews on this model, I am amazed this unit was not recalled. If I hadn't had to modify the cabinet enclosure to install this microwave and trim, I surely would have returned it.

Won’t turn off.

Same issue as many others stated. Microwave will only turn off when unplugged or door is open. No errror code to even identify problem.

Would not recommend

Same issue as many others noted. We moved into our house a few years ago and it was brand new, and we have had several issues with it. We have other Whirlpool products that work without problems, but this one is not.

Motor stopped spinning

The microwave came brand new with my home, 4 years ago. It stopped spinning and the plate shattered.

Lasted less than five years

This microwave was the "middle tier" of our new home design package and we thought we'd be getting a solid product. That turned out to be false.
We've owned the microwave less than five years (moved in to our house November 2020) before it started "running" aft all times if the microwave door was shut. That lead to the circuit breaker tripping frequently, until it finally shorted out and completely stopped working. We're forced to get a similar Whirlpool product because our cabinet cut-out fits only this model. I wish I could buy a Kitchen-Aid microwave instead.

Runs on its own!!!

RUNS on its own. We have this whirlpool microwave and it just started running on its own when the door is closed with zero time entered. I have tried unplugging it and resetting the breaker. Nothing works. Came here and found that everyone has the same issue. Why has Whirlpool not addressed this!!!
