Buyer Beware

I bought this microwave 5 years ago with my other Whirlpool oven, fridge and dishwasher. This week the microwave ran with door closed and no time entered. It's been unplugged and shopping for a new one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The microwave is junk

I bought this microwave to match my whirlpool stove for my new home in 2020. Well if you have looked at the other reviews they are not fake. The microwave would just randomly start and would not shut off unless you open the door close the door and it comes back on and if you try to heat anything it doesn’t heat. This is a real safety concern. We have small children and I can’t have random kitchen appliances just start in the middle of the night. FYI the trim kit only works with this microwave so you SOL on finding anything that looks decent to replace it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible product, run away at once!

Horrible product from Whirlpool. New construction house bought in Aug 2022 and this came with the house. The item has stopped working with the door error. Extremely bad product, please buy something else.

Poor Parts and Partial Display issue within a year

We purchased this microwave mainly going on the Whirlpool name. Microwave will not cut off. After reading the reviews it sounds as if that's a common problem. Wish we would have known this previously.

Humming noise? UNPLUG!!

Worked pretty good until it didn't. Last night I heated up left overs and after I took my food out and shut the door I thought I heard a humming noise coming from the unit. I was hungry so I sat down to eat and a few minutes later there is this burnt electric smell. I get up and instantly run to the kitchen to find the microwave super hot. It was already installed with a trim kit so I frantically had to find a screw driver to get that kit off so I could literally find out if the back of my mircrowave was on fire. Thankfully something in the unit must of shut if down or it just overheated to the point of shutting down. Then as I was removing it out of the cabinet it just pops back on. I shut the door and I hear the same buzzing noise. I unplugged the unit and it's sitting on my dining room table for now. Definitely I moment I will probably never forget. Some say it's a interlock switch that gets stuck but I'm not taking the chance that it will happen again so I will not repair.
