All around great choice - happy with purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had experience with this fridge for 2 months now. Overall, I am very happy. I transitioned from a failing french door model and am much happier with the side by side design for its larger freezer capacity. I went with this model strictly because it was one of the few fridges that fit in my kitchen space - even the updated model of the original unit went up in size! This unit also offered the largest amount of internal space for its dimensions. Some of the upgrades of this model versus the cheaper options are also appreciated including the increased number of shelves, chill drawer, and quick freeze shelf. The water/ice dispensers are nice but were not required (old french door had ice drawer only).
I ordered this unit right before Labor Day and it was not delivered until the week before Thanksgiving during the great Appliance Shortage in the year of COVID-19. As soon as it was installed, the unit started to leak water from the top of the dispenser. I ended up having to sign for it anyway (or be without a fridge!) and use it for 3 weeks prior to a new replacement unit being delivered. The new model has been working perfectly with no problems. My original unit did have some hissing and popping noises in the first 24 hours, which later went away (I suspect it was not transported upfront, which is what results in these issues based on the instruction manual). The new unit has been super quiet with no abnormal noises since set-up. I have not experienced anything described by others in terms of noise outside of that first units' 24 hours.
The pros of this model are very large and deep shelves with borders to prevent leaks, pretty even cold distribution in both compartments from top to bottom (a frequent problem for side-by-sides), flexible shelving options including the freezer (so you can actually fit am upright frozen pizza box!). I also appreciate that this unit's side shelves have thin walls and give you expanded door storage vs comparable units (where the actual storage space in the doors is sometimes truly laughable). Overall, it easily accommodates more food than my french door and I can actually see all the contents of the fridge on opening the doors. Finally, the ice dispenser takes up less than a third of the freezer door, again allowing for more storage compared to other models. It makes more than enough ice for our household and, if anything, I have to sometimes dump the excess to keep it from freezing together. The dispenser mechanism has not gotten stuck once thus far.
Cons are the water dispenser mechanism appears a bit flimsy (will have to see how durable it is), and the unit has some cosmetic issues not befitting of this price point (as it is billed as a 'premium' model). These include random adhesive/cement filling drill holes unevenly and occasionally streaking out to the surrounding wall, uneven creases, and the rather flimsy plastic toe grille. Those are the only reasons I gave this a 4 (more like a 4.5) out of 5.
Finally, in case anyone is curious, the doors of this unit ARE magnetic so you can stick your old mementos to your hearts' desire.

Superior product!

You can see everything that is put in so you don`t lose sight of anything. The LED lighting is great and the lights on the outside ice and water slot actually make a great night light .We just love our new refrigerator !!!!!!

Great... So Far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last year (Oct 2019 actually) we upgraded our fridge from a standard model to a side-by-side model by a different brand. Within a year's time, it broke down 3x in the midst of the pandemic. Thankfully, we had insurance so we were able to get our money back and invest in new model. Because there was a fridge shortage it took us a bit to find a model in the right size, features, had decent reviews AND wasn't on backorder. Finally, during the holidays we were able to zero in on this Frigidaire model and got it delivered just over a week later.
In addition to actually working, aesthetically speaking, Frigidaire was an immediate improvement. Side-by-sides are notorious for poor freezer space, but the designers of this model were very smart in maximizing the space. In fact, after swapping everything out of the old freezer into the new one we had a whole empty shelf left to fill.
I've had Frigidaire appliances in the past and was looking to buy them again initially but there weren't any available so I opted with another brand, which we ended up regretting. But as long as this model holds up I'll remain a Frigidaire faithful. This unit is taller, features customizable shelves in fridge, utilizes a secondary basket in freezer to better reach items in that shelf, has deeper door shelves, maximizes the space over the ice maker as an added shelf, and actually works.
The only flaw I'll call out so far is the water/ice dispenser. If you have a glass you're fine, but trying to fill a water bottle or narrow neck container and you'll likely get water all over the floor based on where the water spout is positioned. Be on top of the ice dispenser slot isn't as intuitive for placing your water bottle, but in the grand scheme of things I can live with that as long as the fridge works. I just crouch down and make sure I'm lined up before dispensing water. Not ideal but I can live with it.
The last thing I'll say is fridge shopping is exhausting because it seems like no new fridge lasts like the ones we grew up with. Scrolling though the one star reviews, which I take with a grain of salt, but if I see a constant issue I take that as a potential point of concern. Even this fridge had some issues based on reviews I read, but after months of browsing the reported issues seemed like the best of the worst so I rolled the dice (got the 5 year extended warranty just in case). But so far so good, really love this model and pray we have better luck with this one than we did with our prior purchase.

Very happy - mostly....

So far happy but not so much with the ice maker which makes cubes that don't separate when they drop into the bin and the chute is not wide enough to discharge them. Chute pugs up and we have a mess. Not every time but often enough to be a bother. Otherwise, we are happy and satisfied.
