Returned the 1st one as it didnt work worth ..... the second one has a mind of its own, very inconsistent! Certainly not worth the money unless you're going for the looks and don't make toast.

Automatic features stopped working within1 year

I loved this toaster when I got it, but the automatic features stopped working. Now it's less than a regular manual toaster.

Beautiful Candy apple red Best toaster Ever!!!!

I bought this a couple months ago because of my fibro robbing me of my strength and i wouldn't have to do anything but put my bread in. So awesome that it raises itself and you can push a button if youre not ready to butter while youre getting other food ready. It doesn't take up any space compared to the regular toasters. Matches the candy apple red stand mixer I bought the same day. I also purchased a food processor but its empire red and they still look good together. Dont wait to purchase you'll love it!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost Perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We first saw and used this toaster elsewhere and really liked it. It was expensive but felt solidly built and “commercial quality”. Unfortunately, when it arrived it did not toast evenly. One side was significantly and consistently darker than the other. KitchenAid customer service was great and shipped a replacement immediately. But, even the replacement did not toast evenly. We thought maybe the elements just needed to burn in (or burn off any protective coating), so gave it many tries, all with the same results. So, unfortunately even the replacement has now been sent back. Maybe we just got two flawed models in a row, or maybe we are just too picky, but for such an expensive and high-end toaster you would think it would toast evenly every time right out of the box. It’s too bad because otherwise, it is a beautiful, solid toaster.

It turns on by itself. Just started doing this and I've had it about 3 years. I was happy with the toaster until now. I have to remember to unplug it otherwise I'll happen to look over and it's lit up.
