Loving it in red, this device is an amazing addition to my coffee-making stable of heavy duty countertop appliances.
I do have a concern regarding the bowl into which the ground beans are caught. This not bowl is not only extremely fragile (imagine the shards of clear glass to clean up if it is broken), but it is also not locked in under the grinder, so it is very potentially "mobile".

A physicist I know was studying coffee grinders as to consistency of particles with grinders.. and this one came up tops. I have used it to grind for french press as well as espresso and it has had a perfect grind each time.

Good - but inaccurate dimensions listed!

We just bought this and on it's first use it worked great. But it's 14" tall, not under 10" as listed. Take that into account when you're thinking about where it will fit in your kitchen.

This works really good, better then I expected. This grinds very fine for me. I used to use a braun and Cuisinart chopper that looks and functions like a mini blender. I would stop and start it and shake it when it was on so all the coffee beans would be ground evenly to a course powder. But, I was always worried the chopper might turn on from a short and slice my fingers off. I say this because the last real coffee grinder we had was a Cuisinart that would start all by itself, perhaps a short. It only lasted for 11 months.
Well, this new KitchenAid grinder is wonderful. We use it every day. It works even better then the choppers. The unit feels really solid. We've owned a KitchenAid standup mixer for over 32 years and it still works like the day we bought it. The KitchenAid grinder should be a solid performer for years to come.

Another Superb Kitchen Aid countertop appliance

I received this as a gift. It's replacing a classic Krups burr grinder. The setting for the grind fineness is very easy, and the coffee is ground in a very short period of time.

Great grinder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this a couple of months ago because I wanted to move away from plastic jars and to an all glass option. I love it! The grinder and jars have been so easy to clean when I switch from one type of coffee to another. The only issue is that occasionally, the beans will balance themselves in such a way that they don't flow down into the grinding mechanism. A quick stir fixes that easily!

We've had many other coffee grinders in the past, and they were like toys in comparison to this grinder. The Kitchen Aid grinder is substantial and a real work horse, as we grind every day. It also is attractive and really adds to your bistro coffee look in the kitchen :o)
