18+ years and still great!

I purchased this grinder (or its equivalent product number) back in 2002 and have not had any problems with it whatsoever. I primarily use it to grind coffee for my espresso machine. But, because it is so easy to adjust the grind for a drip machine or French press I cannot imagine owning any other grinder.
The only issues I have had with it deal with the lower glass hopper. When removing it, a small amount of coffee grinds fall out onto the base of the grinder. I usually just wipe it off once a week. The hopper is also made from very thin glass which is easily breakable, which I have done once.

My older model Kitchenaid Pro Burr Grinder was still working fine till the plastic drive gears on the motor transmission started breaking off. At that point the motor could not turn the grinders. I was disappointed since although it was nearly 5 yrs old, I only used it once a week at most during the period. No replacement parts were available anywhere so I couldn't repair it. After looking at the grinders available, I decided to just replace with the same type unit as many of the glass parts etc. are interchangeable and very costly to replace individually.

Awesome grinder

I have had my grinder for at least 4 years and I grind 2+ pounds a month. Zero issues. My wife broke 2 of the glass containers and I bought 3, 1 extra for next time. We love the toughness and way this coffee grinder performs. Buy with confidence and know Kitchen Aid will take care of you.

Better than the conical grinderS I’ve tried

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, if you research “they say” conical is the way to go for a grinder. But after FOUR of them over a short time span (they tend to be made of cheap stuff from what I’ve noticed) I decided to give this a try.
While the Kitchen Aid is not a conical burr grinder, I cannot tell the difference in taste. It is sturdy, made of metal and glass. No cheap plastic. Taking the front screws off from cleaning is easy and accessible.
Give this a try, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

OMG it is just wonderful, it looks so nice on my counter. We received it so fast. My only concern is that the top jar I'm so afraid I will break when I clean it. I have to be so careful. I need replacements just in case.
