Fathers day gift 3 years ago. The unit was in an accident now i can not use it the adjustment knob and the two glass bowels were broken ! The adjustment knob is unavailable ! WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A MACHINE THAT YOU COULD NOT GET REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR ?????????
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I Love my red KitchenAid appliances, they work very well. I am looking forward to buy red siphon coffee maker. I know you don't have in a red color I hope you will consider making in red too!!!

It does a nice job and it's very easy to use but the glass container the grounds are put into doesn't meet up to the grinder flushly and some grounds will spill out unless you hold it up. It's a big loud too but other than that it's awesome.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product seems built well. I expect it to last a long while. My only criticism is the the collection container rests unsecured on the base. It would have been nice if there was at least a groove or channel it rested on. Otherwise, this is a solid grinder

Solid Quality Coffee Grinder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: 1) Solidly built, the quality one expects from KitchenAid. 2) The grind 'fineness' can be adjusted from the factory settings range to a finer grind, in addition to the adjustments with the grind settings wheel. The instructions tell you how to do this and the allen wrench needed for this adjustment is supplied with the machine.
Cons: 1) The glass hopper bowl could use deeper male threads along with the top metal female mating, which would add stability to the connection. Try not to turn the unit over or much to the side with the upper glass hopper bowl attached as it may fall out. 2) The grinds bowl is OK, but thicker glass would be better.
Overall, considering the price point, this is a very good grinder. For espresso drinkers; however, the Baratza Vario units (several models and prices) offer more grind selections. I use this for grinding espresso and it performs nicely, after I adjusted the grinder as the factory settings are not fine enough for espresso.
