Things to consider

We purchased the KDRS467VSS (6 burner, stainless steel) in 2018 to REPLACE a very old 4-burner range without self-clean. (!) While the range is beautiful, the oven is nowhere as deep as the old one, partly due to the self-clean option which takes up some room. Pans that used to fit vertically now have to be horizontal. Weird for the turkey if you're a baster. (2) Only two burners allow you to reduce the flame to simmer, or low. Three burners reduce the flame down only to what I consider medium. The last burner, which is small (thank God) is pretty much the only one you can use for a smaller item, such as a teapot or smaller pan with a handle you don't want to burn. (3) My husband cooks a lot and is delighted with the two large powerful burners (the ones that also simmer) (4) I do really like the range, but I have a second kitchen with an apartment-sized range (a nice deep oven) that helps me overlook the shortcomings of the Kitchen Aid. Could be that I've been with '80s appliances so long that I'm not used to the changes above.

Very nice product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in December because my old Kitchenaid range gave up the ghost on the oven. They said no replacement parts were available. This range has a nice touchscreen interface, but I have to keep it locked because my cats walk across it. I like the burners better than my old range: Two high- capacity burners in front, three “regular” burners, and a little simmer burner in the back where it should be. I also like the lack of a backsplash. It doesn’t get in the way of tall pots. It doesn’t have a steam feature like my old range, but I rarely used that. I do like the sliding rack; makes it easy to get large dishes out.

Electrical Problem

Main power cord melted inside the unit after only a couple years of use. Expected better durability for the price.
