Just threw my new iPhone in here a couple days ago. It's an extremely sturdy looking case, and I feel pretty confident I could drop it off a 2nd story balcony and phone would be fine, but given how big the new iPhones are to start, the size and thickness of the case is really bulky, and makes it less pocket size... Am actually considering getting the lower profile case for my day-to-day, when I'm less likely to inflict significant damage to the phone.

I have been used otterbox cases for at least 10 years and have never had a damaged phone. Even had one fly off of a truck and hit concrete going 30 mph. The case was destroyed but the phone was fine.
