The design is defective since unless you cut off the tab which covers the charging port, it destroys the case. Specifically the opening and closing of the tab loosens the gasket around the base of the phone and within a short time causes the case to break. You would think that otter would know that but if your warranty is just a Ponzi scheme you probably don’t care
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The case is good except for a couple of things - the clear plastic screen protector was unnecessary as I already had a better quality one on my phone so I removed the one built into the new case (with the help of a YouTube video). Also I find the rubber protectors for the charging hole and the silencing button quite annoying but overall, a good case.

Recently we purchased a Defender for our iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. As always Otterbox continues to improved case designs, and this one is the lightest, slimiest, easiest to apply, and above at a reasonable price.

The quality of OtterBox defender has proven itself time after time. This is just what I need to protect my iPhone 7. The only thing I wish to be better are the design/color options. I'd love to see more variety, but overall, this is a fantastic case.

I love otterbox cases. We have to order the rugged and durable ones because we are so hard on our phones but they keep the actual phone in pristine condition! Only thing I would like is for case to be waterproof. Other than that we can't live without one! And the new color choices were perfect! Customer service, cases, otterbox in general rocks! 5 stars!
