Love it! This is my second one for the same phone in at least 5-6 years, may be closer to 10 years. I work with animals and in all kinds of weather, so I’m glad to have a product that has prevented my phone (which I heavily rely on for communication for my job) from being broken or even scratched. The product itself also withstands a lot of damage. Only reason I needed to replace it after all this time was the very outer layer started to peel away from old age.
Case does a great job of protecting iphone when it gets dropped. Only weakness is that gray/blue case is not as smooth to the touch as the previous black case that I owned.
This is my second Otterbox but for the life of me I could not open this new one. Next up was my strong daughter in law who also has an Otterbox Defender. She could not open it. Finally my athlete son was able to peel it apart using a flathead scewdriver and insert my phone. The case itself is perfect, five stars, but the process was zero stars. Not sure if it was this particular case or what.
I've been using Defender cases on my iPhones for the last 5 years. From my 4s to my 6 plus and now on my iPhone 7. After people kept telling me they could hardly hear me on my new iPhone 7 (with Defender case installed), and they weren't very loud on my end either, I proceeded to take a utility knife and cut off the bottom rubber of the case which was covering the mic and speakers (I could see a lot of excess rubber that was partially covering both speakers and apparently the mic too. Presto!, the sound quality on both ends then was normal. I am disappointed that the designers of the case for the iPhone 7 didn't pick up the obvious sound quality issue. Love the cases protection for my phone, not happy that I had to make my own modification to make it usable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi Phoneman,
Thanks for being a fan of our Defender cases over the last 5 years! We’re sorry that this one for your iPhone 7 was hindering the audio. We assure you that this is not at all typical and we wish that you would have reached out to us before you modified the case. Technically, altering the case can void the warranty. We would still like to see if we can rectify this abnormal situation, please give our friendly Otters a call at 1-855-688-7269 and we will be happy to assist in any way that we can!
