Very disappointed Front screen sits off the iPhone face so had to push harder which didn’t work. Went back to life proof case

The case itself is sturdy and feels secure. I am less impressed with the plastic screen protector as it makes using the screen a lot more clumsy. It doesn’t sit flush against the phone screen so makes an annoying tapping noise and a lot of the time I have to re-type things because it doesn’t pick up what I have tapped. Don’t know how long I will be able to put up with that.

I bought that about a month and a half ag and can’t use it. It doesn’t recognize my touch, or add a bunch on 1 letter. Which is sad cause I usually love you products. So for now I don’t have a case!!!! Can’t afford it.

2nd Defender I have purchased and I certainly admire the sense of security it gives me. Its case seems a bit too rigid near the power button and requires a bit more effort to press than I'd like.
Much lower quality than previous OtterBox cases. The hard plastic is cheaper and the mold isn’t flush against my phone edges, especially at the home button. As a result it catches on things including my thumbs. The soft part of the case was also cheaper and could clearly see deformities from the molding process. Also the charging/earbud port flap is already ripping off less than a month of use. Makes me nervous about the over all claims that OtterBox says about the shock resistance and if it can actually effectively protect my phone like previous OtterBox cases again.

Wish product description was more complete

I assumed too much when I read the description that it stops dirt, dust and lint from getting into jacks and ports. It does, but it doesn't do much to prevent dirt and dust from getting under screen protector. Sharing so others don't make the same mistake. The opening at the top of the screen (for the camera + mic) has no protector over it, so dust and dirt get under easily and all over the screen. There is also no protector over the opening for the camera in the back. This case isn't suitable for my dusty work environment.

We're sorry to hear you've been struggling with such debris infiltration underneath the integrated screen protector of the Defender Series Case. Although the port covers of the case will keep dust out of those areas, you are correct that this isn't a fully-enclosed unit.
Sounds like you work in a fairly dusty area, so not certain it would resolve the issue at hand, but we'd be more than happy to help get you set up with a brand-new warranty replacement case to see if it cinches things down slightly to help keep such things to a minimum.

I bought this case for my new iPhone 7 and I'm happy that I did
Let me start off by saying, I trust Otter Box with all my devices. I have had them for years. Being a teen with a disability I drop my things here and there, don't we all. The product just like my previous ones was easy to order came right on time and I feel confident that in the event my iPhone should meet the floor, it is well protected. One of the best things included is the screen protector. I have used 100% authentic Otter Box for both my Galaxy devices and iDevices. Never had a single issue, in terms of damage to the device. Customer Service is also top! When I had an issue with the case, I felt confident that Otter Box was working with me NOT against me. In my opinion the case is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.
