The alpha glass for the note 8 is not what I expect from Otter box quality standards. It produced hairline cracks immediately after install from the way it snaps into the case, and then fell off the phone after one light drop of the phone. 3 weeks in and already needed a replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're positive that this new screen protector should deliver on all of your Otter expectations, but we would still recommend installing it based on the technique highlighted in our installation video (link below). Great protection but comes with a major flaw

adhesive only on the edges so you have to press hard in order for the phone to respond and even then you have some errors

I purchased this costly screen protector through Otterbox expecting high quality. It is not......the screen protector does not even provide full coverage, and the adhesive is not strong.

The screen protector is specifically designed to only cover the phone display itself, which ends up not spanning the entire height of the phone. This is purposeful, as we don't want our products to inhibit any crucial device functionality - such as the front-facing camera on the Galaxy Note 8. Rest assured, that Alpha Glass was tested and engineered to provide the best protection possible!
As for the adhesive, it is odd that it seems weak, since typically the glue on the Alpha Glass is pretty powerful. Please feel welcome to call our Otter experts at 1-855-688-7269, and they'll be happy to take a closer look. Once we find some answers, we can come up with a permanent solution for your screen protector!

The Alpha glass fit perfectly & installed in seconds! But within 3 weeks it fell off my knee onto the floor, while I was in a chair. Then "crack" it shattered on the lower left corner & by thge next day, it had splintered across the screen & to the top of the glass!

Only has sticky around the outside edges, so thankfully it was really easy to get back off once I realized how bad it was. It absolutely destroys the touch input on the phone and makes it very difficult to use.
I think perhaps if it had more adhesive or was a bit thinner it might help, but I'm not sure how great it would be at protection. I've decided to skip the screen protector and just use the Otterbox case I bought by itself.
