Very happy with the company and their products. Behind a well designed sous vide appliance there is a wealth of helpful information on the website. The support team is active to issue updates for Joule and I sure appreciate that. Now, if I can only get the last update installed without errors it would be perfect. I did not spend the time to investigate since I found no issues in the way I use it so far. Maybe one day...

Everything has been great except one…

Everything has been great except one thing. Sometimes my phone has a difficult time connecting to joule even via Bluetooth. I have to restart the app and my joule to get it to connect. It could just be my phone (pixel 2 xl running 8.1.0). I know joule connects to Alexa, and Google home is suppose to be in the pipeline, but I'm looking forward to Google home compatibility. I am also happy that this review enabled me to have click bait style title.

Joule is one of my go to kitchen tools

I like to judge kitchen hardware by how often I actually end up using it over time. I use my joule multiple times per week. It heats quickly, is quiet, and the app / alexa voice control are very easy to use and convenient. Particularly with the big clamp, which vessel you cook in is extremely flexible. One of the most underrated features is its compact size and ability to conveniently fit in a drawer. Having it easily at hand makes me go to it far more often.

Add Google Home integration

Edit: WiFi issue has been fixed, it now reconnects on it's own. Joule doesn't have a physical interface on it, so you have to use your phone or voice assistant to control it. I knew this when purchasing, however considering that this is the only means of controlling the device it should be more reliable and available. Specifically, it doesn't work with Google Home yet - it should and many people have inquired but it hasn't been added as a feature. Edit: The WiFi issue described below was fixed. Additionally, if the device gets disconnected from WiFi it will not reconnect to the same WiFi by itself. I have to go power cycle the device. This is not limited to just my device. The need for this reliability function is more and more important these days as WiFi devices are coming with their own auto firmware upgrade functions. Every time an update is pushed to my WiFi device, it restarts, and then Joule doesn't work until power cycled. Every other device I own reconnects on it's own, except Joule. I contacted Joule to let them know of this and they said they were aware and working on it. The device has been around long enough, they should've fixed it by now.
