Best money I've spent in years. Joule gets way more use than I had originally intended. Came for superior texture and flavor, stayed for convenience.

I'm really impressed with Joule in terms of its elegance, and the whole Joule (Chefsteps) ecosystem. The Joule immersion heater works extremely well., maintaining precise temperatures and effective water circulation. It pairs seamlessly with both Android and Apple devices. The website recipe videos are excellent and straight forward - I have even recommended them to users of other immersion heaters. The results are great. Some of the best steaks and salmon, for example, that I and my wife have had. So far I have only used it for animal protein and in particular in conjuction with barbeques. In particular the advice on the Amazing Ribs website. I will be moving on to vegitables and desert. My only quibble is the total reliance on wifi and internet. I would find it reassuring to have some basic control and display.

Best on the market - still needs some polish

Pros: Great footprint Heats bath quickly Magnet is neat like how shallow you can circulate Cons: No quick and/or obvious way to shut the machine off App was built with the average joe in mind. I would like to be able to save my own recipes and settings. Im still not sold on the phone interface. 90% of the time i just want to sent the temp to my bath and be done with it. I don't want to pull out my phone, or snuggle with Alexa to understand me... again i understand you want to remind the customers that you're using a Joule and to go back to the website, etc. There's a point where it becomes annoying. Wants: If not a screen then a pro version of the app. Strip out all of the visual stuff and just give me a place where i can plugin and save my own recipes. More power (<- pretty sure this is not possible with this being a consumer product). Removable power cord Let me toss the thing in the dish washer (I'm pretty sure you can already, but would be a cool supported feature) Ability to pivot the circulator when attached to a tub. Rose gold and Space grey versions (...jokes)

I have found the Joule fantastic and so easy to use. The food I have prepared in with this method has been so well received by my clients and their guest. In catering it takes the guess-work out of when to have the meat or fish ready, so much more breathing room.

Love the size and website info but...

We want to love our Joule 100% but seems connectivity issues with cell phones (Galaxy Note 8's) and tablet (Lenovo) drops out on occasion leaving us concerned that it would even hook up to begin with or worse cut out mid-cook. We have made some truly amazing food with this device and it's a very welcome addition to our kitchen though!
