Joule, from an engineering standpoint, is a fantastic device. After well over a year of near daily use, Joule still rapidly heats large quantities of water and only asks to be occasionally cleaned in a water-vinegar solution. The quality is outstanding. My biggest gripe with Joule is that since my purchase, Chefsteps seems to have greatly decreased the rate at which they publish guides and recipes. Obviously, Joule works plenty well without a Chefsteps published recipe, but part of my decision to go with Joule over a similar circulator device was I believed in the Chefsteps ecosystem. On that front, I have been disappointed. Despite this, I would still recommend the purchase of a Joule if a person had interest in Sous Vide cooking. The product quality and durability outshines any issues I have with Chefsteps and is certainly worth the cost.

Had a problem syncing Joule - emailed them and they returned my message promptly - easily fixed the problem. Recipes excellent and can be converted to regular cooking if I'm pressed for time. Updates appreciated and videos fun and helpful. Nice job guys!

Professional Chef - I LOVE IT

We use our Joule in both a professional kitchen and at home. It works wonderfully for both. The tool is easy to use and reliable. My complaint, if any, would be about the accompanying app. While proteins come out perfectly, there is more variability with the custards or other dessert recipes. The videos, however, are high quality and emphasize proper technique. A great learning tool. Having tried the Anova and PolyScience sous vide tools, I can tell you this is THE BEST on the market. BUY JOULE.

I love my Joule

I love my Joule. I use it probably about once a week on average. My unit started having issues after about 10 months, and it had to be replaced. Support was amazing and got me a new one very quickly. However, its a pretty expensive piece of equipment, and it makes me a little leary that it failed inside of a year. Hopefully it was a fluke. Other than that, I definitely recommend it!

Joule has changed the way I cook. Things i did well are better than ever and things I struggled with are now on the menu regularly. The device itself is excellent but the app takes it to the next level. Beautiful design and intuitive controls. Love it.
