Its absolutely great when it works

Its absolutely great when it works. When it works its fast, simple to use, can be controlled from our Amazon Alexa. However, many times the wifi and/or bluetooth wont connect and then it takes like 10 min or more to get the device reset and synced back up with the app. Wish I had gotten a sous vide with a screen when this happens as 90% of the time I just need to set a temperature.

Enjoy trying new things with joule but have a few problems. The app frequently drops my WiFi connection. It's a pain to constantly go to settings to re-connect. Secondly the guides need to be updated to include more techniques. Anova and other apps have extensive resources WHICH ARE FREE!!! Stop charging for ChefSteps access. If you want to sell more units make it easier to find obscure (though common) guides like venison, bison, etc.

Should probably ship with both the small pot clamp and the large optional clamp. I use both. But works really well to cook food.

Expect & Enjoy Perfect Temperature Results

I love to cook and the Joule has made my experience easy, fun, precise and delicious. The instructions are easy to follow and to date my results have been great. I have learned to plan and time my meals better. My only serious disappointment has been, my fault by not leaving enough time to allow the meat to "come to temperature" for the final searing and presentation. A few "LATE" dinners caused me to plan & time my Sous Vide earlier. The fact that your searing may be done some time after reaching temperature allows you seat at the last moment. I am excited to "learn, experiment & enjoy" proficiency with my Joule Sous Vide by Chef Steps. More & ever expanding Joule Specific Recipes would be greatly appreciated!
