Excellent pour over taste.

We live in Costa Rica, so most people use the pour over method - be it a bit archaic. I loved taste so much I tried it at home, but it's messy and not very aesthetic. So, I bought this. The flavor it produces is excellent. I suppose the heating element doesn't keep the coffee at a proper drinking temperature to preserve the flavor, but it's less convenient. We end up making a pot, then pouring it and reheating it in the microwave. Not optimal, but it does taste better than other brew machines. I'd recommend pouring the pot into a thermos container immediately after brewing. Other than that, it's a beautiful machine and in two years since it was purchased, we've never had a problem.

Good, but not perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a while ago as my first KitchenAid purchase. The coffee is good. But the alarm does not need to wake up the rest of the house to start it or when it’s done. Also, I could hardly see how much water I was adding.

Brewing shuts off off after less than a minute...

My wife and I purchased this coffee maker a couple of years back and were originally pleased with its performance. However, shortly after the warranty had expired, the machine began to "cut out" before the brewing completed (and made higher-pitched "completion" beep prompts) and had to be restarted multiple times to complete brewing. The condition only got worse and is now inoperable. We were told by KitchenAid multiple times that they would not replace (what we believe is a defective machine) as it was beyond the warranty. This this was an expensive product that failed well before it should have. We were loyal Kitchen Aid customers for years, and unfortunately expected better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great coffee... Until the heating went haywire.

Great Coffee Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Makes great tasting coffee and brews fast. I also like the cleaning cycle operation. I do wish the warming plate would stay on longer. Not long enough for me to drink 3 regular cups of coffee. Very solid and looks good in the kitchen.

Love this Coffee Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the way this brews my coffee. HUGE downside that Kitchen Aid no longer offers the eight cup glass carafe replacement. It was a big investment to begin. I have use another brand carafe with a trivet in order to use it at all now.
