Makes the best pot of coffee!!

We like a Hot smooth strong cup of coffee. After trying numerous peculators and french press makers we tried this Siphon Coffee Brewer and fell in love with the coffee it made. The coffee comes out hot and with a smooth full body. You have never tasted coffee with so much flavor but it is not bitter or burnt tasting. We love it. If you want to re-heat the coffee just depress the switch for 30 seconds and then lift it up to stop the heating process.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This coffee brewer is beautiful. Even if I did't use it to brew coffee I would leave it out on the counter. It is like stove top pots used in the 50's and early 60's - you had to be an engineer to set them off the heat at just the right time. However, Kitchenaid has solved that problem; you just flip a switch and wait. I use the metal filter which is very easy to use. As for clean up it does take a few minutes because the grounds are swirled in the upper globe; they are easily dumped out and then pot and filter washed. The lower pot is harder because of its shape but it only takes a few shakes to get the rinse water out. I wash the loser pot with some white vinegar water to help keep the heating element clean. Coffee is strong and wonderful;.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not that impressed with this siphon coffee maker, I will only use this when company’s coming over. Cleaning this product takes way to much time.

Decent machine but there are reservations

Having used nearly all coffee makers in an effort to get the best strong brew, and not wanting to have to store butane for my manual syphon, I bought this machine. It has one glaring deficiency. You cannot control the immersion time on this machine to get a really rich cup. With Syphons this is paramount. I have seen a few workarounds that others have tried, but it would be a simple matter to engineer a timer in to the machine. The only alternative is to use more coffee and it is very wasteful if you buy premium coffees from a roaster. For my morning mug I have to use 32 grams, although it does help if you stir the coffee as it enters the upper chamber. So Kitchen Aid, how bout it? Give us some control of the brew, because you have made a decent start. Also you really have to have a really good helical grinder to make the best brew.

I love the coffee made by this machine. I would say they need to make the base a warmer as well. The opening of the coffee pot is a bit small and makes it hard to clean. Those are two big things for me, the machine would be perfect otherwise.

This coffee maker makes the best coffee! Tastes like french press coffee, but no sludge--perfect coffee every time. you do have to make sure you lock the filter in though--makes quite a mess if you don't.

I have used siphons for some time. This is by far the easiest to use since it has its own heating system and automatic shut off. It's fun, beautiful, & makes great coffee.
